Ex Hutson & "Manwood". [Multiples are of extreme rarity and indicate payment of postage in addition to the 6d registration fee]
NEW SOUTH WALES - Postal History
1851 (Oct 28) entire to GB "By the first vessel" with Sydney View 3d yellow-green (3 good to large margins, the right-hand side underneath the 2d) & Laureate 2d (unusually large margins, strongly suggesting that the 3d also has full margins) tied by fine BN '57' of 'RAYMOND TERRACE' (fine b/s), rated "8" in black, fair Sydney transit cds in red on face, few peripheral areas of minor discolouration.
1886 cover from GB with Lilacs & Greens 3d pair tied by 'GRANTHAM - 321' duplex, to "Cross Keys Hotel/Alwin Brook/Australia" but with 'POST TOWN/NOT KNOWN/NSW' h/s in magenta & boxed 'POST TOWN/NOT/ KNOWN IN VICTORIA' h/s both on the face.

1853-55 Courier Plate I (?) 4d red-orange stated to be SG 5 but lacks the "brilliant colour" referred to by Gibbons so more likely SG 7, margins close to good, untidy '25' cancel, Cat £700 or £425.
1853-55 Courier Plate I Second State 4d red-orange SG 7, margins just shaved (at base) to large, untidy '59' cancel, Cat £425.
TASMANIA - Postal History
1874 local cover to "Trumpeter Bay" with Sideface 1d tied by manuscript "49" & postmaster's endorsement "Kelly's Point/14 10 74" at left, small closed tear to left of the stamp. One of the most significant mss-cancelled covers of Tasmania. Ex Groom. [Because both offices were on Bruny Island, the town letter rate was allowed]
1900 use of part-lettersheet with imprint of State School Teachers' Association from Cressy to Alberton where "turned" & sent back with very late usage of First Allocation (!) Barred Numeral '57' (light but discernible strike). An important item and a rare "Pictorials" numeral cover. [Second Allocation numerals were introduced from 1861: First Allocation usage 40 years later is extraordinary]
VICTORIA - Postal History
1858 OHMS entire to Melbourne (b/s), Emblems Rouletted 1d pair & Imperf 2d tied by two strikes of BN '89' (rated RR) of 'AMHERST' (very fine crowned-oval b/s), small faults. Ex Perry.

1879 1d Postal Card with BN '547' & fine strike of the rare double-boxed 'CRAIGIEBURN./24MR79' d/s in violet, some toning. [Probably a railway-issue d/s used in a "relief" capacity for PO business. WWW record a date range of only one month. Similar d/s have been recorded for Burrumbeet & Riddell's Creek]
1904 commercial usage of 2d Envelope to Germany with "Bantam" ½d tied by fair (and above-average) 'MCCC/16' - rated RR - of 'KORNHEIM' (cds alongside), ironed-out vertical fold.
