France: WWI souvenir postcard booklets (13) and loose cards, mostly depicting street scenes and bombed buildings. (200+)
Great Britain: WWI period collection of scenes with real and coloured photo types from English, Scottish and Welsh towns by local manufacturers and Frith's, Valentines, Peacock and Photochrome Co, also some Ireland and Gibraltar. (240)
Japan: Extensive collection in album with a terrific array of subjects including military training & battle scenes, traditional & modern streetscapes, temples, shipping, woodcuts, geishas etc, some are coloured, mostly unused and generally fine to very fine. The inclusion of a number of outer packets suggests there may be some complete sets including "Beppu hot-spring" (one with semi-naked women), "Lakes of Mount Fuji National Park" & earthquake damage (apparently 3 sets of 8 plus a fold-out map card). Most were apparently for internal use only, having captions only in Japanese. The best such lot we have offered. (280+)
