1914-15 6mm Setting 2½d on 20pf as SG 6 but apparently handstamped in two operations, four examples tied to Walun Gesellschaft piece by a forged oval 'RABAUL' datestamp. An enigma. Robert Gibbs Certificate (2006) states "...appears to be original & genuine type but of uncertain status... spacings vary from 5mm to approximately 6mm...These stamps are described at pages 42 & 43 of "GRI"...examples of this overprint/handstamp - Gibbs setting 13A - were in the great collections formed by Bute and Brown". [The first two stamps have the "almost 6mm spacing", which would make them variants of SG 21, Cat £1500 each]
