1861 Perkins Bacon 4d imperforate plate proof marginal block of 4 from the left of the sheet, in dull claret on ungummed unwatermarked paper. A lovely item. [The 4d colour proof sheet was rejected, with an instruction to make "a much greater distinction between the 4d and 1d stamps". Dr Walkley's non-marginal block of 4 sold for $1840 at our auction of 14/4/2005]

1898-1907 W[crown]A 1/- Die II die proof in black on glazed card reduced to stamp-size as BW #W3DP(2) but without the endorsement noted in ACSC, small surface fault to SW of the swan's beak, Cat $4000(-). [Although printed in 1898, the 1/- was not issued until 1907, making it a bona fide Commonwealth-period issue. ACSC records two full-size & two cut-down die proofs, both of the latter affixed to pieces with official notations. This is an additional proof]
