[It is thought that the US postal clerk misunderstood the regulations regarding pre-payment of the internal airmail fee with stamps of another country, being permissable]

1946 (8 Apr) cover from NSW to Iwa Kuni flown by Beaufighter A8-346 (signed by pilot and navigator) as part of a massed Escort Flight by 'NO 93 "ATTACK" SQUADRON' known as the "Green Ghosts", 6d Kookaburra tied on arrival by 'AFPO 28/9AP46/RAAF JAPAN' cds with 'AIF FORCE PO 28' (with manuscript 'BOFU JAPAN' applied beneath) red registration label alongside, subsequently returned to Narromine arriving '20/AP/1946' (b/s), minor blemishes. Not recorded by Eustis.
