1855 London Printings 2d & 6d and 1856-58 Adelaide Printing 1d (large-part o.g.) & 1/-, all cut very close with margins in places, unused with traces of o.g., Cat £13,800 if all are truly the imperforate issues. Very fresh and attractive. These stamps - and Lot 842 under Great Britain - were removed by us from an original 1850s sketchbook. The 6d (Cat £2250) exists only imperforate. The other values were also issued rouletted. However, the rouletted stamps almost invariably have the rouletting into the design on at least one side. The designs of all four stamps are complete, with no evidence of rouletting into the designs. We are therefore confident that they are all imperforate stamps. However, as it is unlikely that anyone would issue a clear certificate for the 1d 2d or 1/-, we must offer them "as is", with the protection of a conservative estimate.
1855 London Printings 1d dark green SG 1 horizontal pair, margins just touching (at lower-left) to good, almost very fine strike of Diamond Numeral '77' (rated RRR) of Inman Valley, Cat £950+.
