ZEPPELINS: 1931-36 selection comprising Brazil to Germany (15) with various cachets applied including eleven commercially used to Reimers & Loessl in Hamburg one with a 8400r meter franking; others from Czechoslovakia, Germany (3, including 1933 to USA via Barcelona) and Uruguay, condition variable. 1936 J & N Tait (theatre operators, imprint on reverse) quadruple rate airmail cover to Germany with 5/- Roo & KGV 1/4d (slightly overlapping) plus 6d Large Kooka tied by 'SHIP MAIL ROOM/ MELBOURNE' cds, endorsed "Via Italy", no backstamps, peripheral blemishes & some age spotting. [The rate was 1/9d for the first ½oz plus 1/8d x3 for additional 1½oz, plus 1d late fee]

1953 2/- airmail rate covers with Produce Food 3½d to 1) Germany with se-tenant strips of 3 x2 plus QEII 1d; 2) plus ½d roo pair; and 3) to England with irregular block of 7 overpaying airmail rate by ½d; minor faults. Scarce usages. (Qty 3)
1962 5d envelope registered airmail to Germany with QEII 2d, 5d Christmas & 10/- Arms added all tied by 'ADELAIDE RAIL' cds, green Customs label on reverse confirming weight (2lbs). [The 10/- Arms is very scarce on small covers - the rate was 2/3d per ½oz x4 + 2/- registration]
1965 (May 18) registered airmail cover to Germany with 2/3d ANZAC plus 2/- Golden Whistler tied by 'ZILLMERE NTH/QLD - AUST' cds, small opening tear on reverse. Rare franking.

1918 (May 12) stampless cover from Germany to a German POW at "20 Comp 2 Messe/GCC Liverpool/vier Holdsworthy", Hamburg machine cancel & Cologne '.../Frei-/gegeben/...' cachet in violet, boxed 'PASSED BY/CENSOR SD' h/s of Sydney.
1898-1911 'DEUTSCHE/SEEPOST/AUSTRALISCHE/HAUPTLINIE' cds on commercial PPCs (3, one a Norddeutscher Lloyd type), German 10pf Postal Card & a 1900 cover to Frankfurt (b/s) with three fair to very fine strikes of the 'f'-code cds used aboard SMS "Prinz Regent Luitpold" also with mss "T 25cts" & "40" both in blue, the latter across the remnants of another stamp, 'ADEN' transit b/s; also a PPC with '.../OST-/ASIATISCHE/HAUPTLINIE' cancel & 'PENANG' cds; minor blemishes. 1923 (Oct 19) commercial cover (213x134mm) to a Catholic missionary at "Doilon (Madang)/New Guinea via Australia" absolutely festooned on both sides with 90 (yes, ninety) Hyper-Inflation adhesives comprising 75,000mk on 1000mk blocks of 12 & 60! (folded to the back), 100,000mk x6 & 2,000,000mk on 5000mk x12 all cancelled with 'KALDENKIRCHEN/(RHEINLAND)' cds, a bit soiled/ aged. A truly amazing cover, with a total franking of 30 million marks! [Deulon was on Alexishafen, about 16km north of Madang]
1940-41 airmail covers to the United States (which was still neutral) from Jewish residents of Vienna (mostly) or Berlin, a couple with sender's name including "Israel" or "Sar(ah)" on the flap as required by the Nazis, various censor tapes & cachets, a few faults. (Qty 12)
1940s bundle of mostly pedestrian covers and postal stationery predominantly Allied Occupation era with frankings to 2mk plus registered covers and philatelic mail, also some WWII covers with Hitler Head frankings including 'UKRAINE' overprints on four registered covers, condition very mixed. [No reserve] (Qty approx 70)
WEST GERMANY: 1974 soiled cover to South Africa carried on board Boeing 747 Jumbo "Hessen" which crashed on take-off at Nairobi, very fine 'RETRIEVED FROM AIR CRASH ON 20/NOVEMBER 1974 AT NAIROBI' bilingual h/s in red-violet Nierinck #741120a.

1891 usage of 2½d Registration Envelope size G (with 'Inland Registration/Compensation...' label affixed to the reverse) to Germany with superb 'GERMAN-EXHIBITION BO/JU10/91/S.W' cds on the face.
