Group mostly with KGV frankings including three 1920-21 covers to NZ with Cairns machine cancel, 1923 & 1924 with Melbourne Krag 'INSERT POSTAL DISTRICT/NUMBER...' & 'BRITISH EMPIRE EXHIBITION' slogans, 1921 with 3d Roo + KGV 2d orange & red 'NSW/BURWOOD' label, 1930 with 1˝d red & 4d olive both with 'MSLP' perfins, etc, condition variable & a few are truncated. NEW SOUTH WALES
1909 cover from 'JONDARYAN' (Qld) to Sydney with superb Toowoomba '647' duplex transit & very fine strike of the scarce 'NSW - TPO 1 NORTH/1909 - OC 9 - UP B' machine b/s, minor blemishes.
1912 cover to Hawthorn with 1d pink tied by a superb strike of the rare Melbourne "boxed flag" Krag continuous-machine cancellation, the flap removed otherwise superb. Ex Purves & Hugh Freeman, who advises that only a couple of other covers are recorded and they are defective. [One of the great rarities of Melbourne postmarks and of world machine cancels. It was in use on a trial basis for at most three days in June and December 1912]

Travelling Post Offices: 7-bars 'ENGLISH MAIL TPO AP 13 1914' machine backstamp on cover from Austria with 5h & 10h pair cancelled with boxed '* EMERSDORF (NöTSCH i G) *' handstamp in violet. Ex Hugh Freeman.
1922 Thomas Cook cover with 1˝d tied by Imperial Cable slogan, hotel redirection label & sent to Switzerland so taxed, Swiss 20c Postage Due affixed but returned to England so superb 'ANNULE' h/s applied, British Postage Due ˝d (torn) & 1d affixed, minor blemishes. [Advertises Thos Cook as foreign agents for the Oberammergau Passion Play]

1958 (Nov 5) cover addressed to "The Chief Radio Officer/Willis Island" with Commonwealth Games 3d tied by Worthing cds, 'BRISBANE/16 DEC/1958' b/s, forwarded to Melbourne where a 1/6d meter applied (23/12/58) over the British adhesive, then to Sydney where 'AIR SERVICE/COMPLETED/AT SYDNEY' boxed h/s was applied, subsequently returned to England with boxed 'Returned to England without/a reason for non-delivery' bilingual b/s; well-travelled condition & full of character. Extraordinary intended destination! [Willis is an Australian outpost in the Coral Sea and at this time the supply ship visited only once per year perhaps explaining the non-delivery. The weather & cyclone warning station was established in 1921 & remains in operation today]
