1857 large-part entire endorsed "Registered" with NSW Diadem 1d vertical pair & 'REGISTERED' (6d) tied by 3 light but clear strikes of BN '85' of Drayton, largely fine 29mm 'IPSWICH/FE*4/1857/N.S.W' arrival b/s.
1854-55 entires (2) & envelopes (2) each with Courier 4d (3 cut-to-shape, the other a large stamp just shaved at left) comprising 1) to GB "p Ship Wellington" with superb BN '35' & postmaster's endorsement "Hamilton/26-1-54"; 2) to Launceston (b/s) with BN '32' & postmaster's endorsement "Geo Town/11 9 54"; 3) to GB with BN '61' & Hobart cds in red, address crossed-through; & 4) to Melbourne (b/s) "per Royal Shepherd Steamer", reduced at left. 1883 cover to Switzerland "via Brindisi" with Sidefaces 1d & 2d + Postal Fiscal 6d Platypus tied by BN '25' of 'DELORAINE', three 20mm disinfection slits, opened a bit roughly at the back.
1863 (Jan 24) cover to Switzerland via London (cds on the face) with Three Issue franking of Netted Corners 1d pair (fault at base of the second unit), Beaded Oval 4d & Octagonal Perf 12 1/- tied by BN '25' of 'HEPBURN' (cds on reverse), superb 'PD'-in-circle in red applied at Melbourne, very fine double-circle 'SCHIFFSBUREAU No2/LUZERN' fair Locarno & undated 'FRATO' (?) backstamps, soiled. 1868 Germain Nicholson cover from Scotland "via Panama" with 6d (fault) tied by 'ABERDEEN - 1 ' duplex, superb ' 6D /MORE TO PAY' h/s applied at Melbourne (b/s), flap fault.
1879 (April 15) cover to Ireland with Laureates 6d tied by fine Echuca duplex with a superb 'J MAULTBY/[paddlesteamer]/HERO' cachet in magenta at upper-left, Melbourne & Irish 'CORK/TPO' transit b/s, minor blemishes. [Our vendor has identified four similar covers all to Maultby Snr in Ireland. [The "Hero" was built in 1874 by George Linklater & Maultby Jnr was its first captain. The boat worked the river until 1957 when she caught fire & sank. Raised in 1988, "Hero" has been fully restored & again operates out of Echuca]

Ballyshanassy: unframed 'BALLYSHANASSSY/DC22/74/VIC' (previously unrecorded) & partial BN '434' (unrecorded "tie") on OHMS lettersheet (minor blemishes). PO 1/5/1863; renamed Burwood c.-/6/1879.
Craigieburn: double-boxed 'CRAIGIEBURN./3AP79' (WWW #20) superb strike in purple on 1d Postal Card cancelled with BN '547', Melbourne arrival b/s. Believed to be a Railways datestamp: recorded used postally for 4 weeks only in March-April 1879. Ex Hugh Freeman.
