British Commonwealth predominantly used collections to 2002 in Stanley Gibbons one-country albums with Australia from 1913 in two volumes; Great Britain from 1840s in 4 volumes with QV to 5/- (2), KGV 1913-19 Seahorses to 10/- plus Re-Engraved trio; New Zealand from 1855 in 2 volumes; Canada from 1859 in 3 volumes. The collections are generally sparse or patchy to 1960s with the early material in very mixed condition, however the 1970s to mid-1990s issues show a better degree of completion. The albums alone are worth a fair proportion of the estimate. (Qty 1000s)
British Commonwealth disorganised accumulation in stockbooks with unmounted Australia including sets, M/Ss, complete sheets, stamp packs and booklets; Great Britain & Channel Islands and New Zealand sets & M/Ss; plus Australian Territories, British Antarctic Territory, Canada & Tokelau sets; also some used/CTO stamps. POSTAGE DUE: Scarce trio comprising 1) 1900 with NSW 1d pair tied by rare oval 'WINDSOR' d/s, folded through the stamps; 2) 1935 OHMS cover readdressed & re-registered with CofA Perf 11 2d & 4d, a bit knocked-about; & 3) 1939 philatelic from Canada with Perf 11 3d BW #D118 (Cat $300 on cover) tied by cds, very fine. 1851-64 Colony of Canada selection comprising Imperf 3d (2, both with 4 margins) & 10d (3½ margins), 1859 1c (4), 5c (3), 10c (10, including a lovely pair, with an excellent range of shades apparently including a deep red-purple), 12½c (4) & 17c (2), and 1864 2c, generally fine to very fine, Cat £3000+ (as cheapest shades). A very attractive group of Classics. (Qty 27)
1868-1952 Dominion mostly used collection in a stockbook with an attractive group of Large Queens apparently including a few Ottawa Printings, Jubilee oddments to 50c (3, one mint), Maple Leaves both sets, KEVII set, Quebec set, KGV Definitive sets, some "back-of-book" including 'REGISTERED' 8c & a few Special Delivery etc, generally fine to very fine, some postmark interest. 1870s-1980s modest collection in album and stockbook with 1920s-40s sets including 1935 Pictorials, 1942 War Effort & 1946 Peace, 1970s-80s range mostly unmounted; also Newfoundland including 1933 Gilbert set; condition mostly fine. (Qty 100s)
1897 Golden Jubilee ½c to $1 SG 121-136 all but the 20c with cds cancels, plus $2 & $4 SG 137 & 139 both with characteristic but above-average roller cancels, mostly well centred, Cat £1900+. (Qty 14)
1898 Imperial Penny Postage 2c SG 166-8 group on Hagners or album leaves where some attempt has been made to plate the stamps, accompanied by collector's notes and a copy of "The Canadian Map Stamp of 1898" by Frederick Tomlinson, condition variable, Cat £550+. (Qty 103 + book)
