PERFORATED 'OS/NSW': £1 chocolate & dull blue BW #52A, pulled perf at base & a little aged, Sydney cds. One of the rarest of the State Officials & the first example we have offered for several years.

PERFORATED 'OS/NSW': 4d lemon-yellow with 'OS/NSW' Inverted, Sydney cds. Rare. [The design is so suffused that it's a wonder inverted perfins aren't common]

2009 Townscapes (Self-Adhesives) 55c 'The Rocks Sydney' with Grossly Misplaced "Perforations" resulting in a Large White Void at the Top & the Inscription Omitted, tied to small piece by Sydney West MC machine cancel. A new discovery: with a normal stamp for comparison.

1918 apparently commercial cover to Adelaide with KGV 1d red tied by 'LORD HOWE_ ISLAND/NSW' cds, a few blemishes.

Late 19th century range including mint Victoria to 2/- and NSW to 1/- with a few optd 'OS', lesser quantities from other Colonies including Tasmania imperforate ½d Sideface, also some used stamps, condition variable. (Qty 225 approx)

Leuchtturm stockbook with a duplicated collection including a few very fine Sydney Views, Laureates & Diadems, later array to 10/- unchecked for shades, watermarks & perfs, also a few revenues & 1930s NSW Railways poster stamps (10), condition very mixed. (Qty 100s)
Reprinted die proofs of Small Diadem with blank tablets in deep purple on thick wove paper (320x54mm) & Large Diadem (head & background only), in bronze-green on thin card (40x56mm), plus similar proofs in deep blue-green or purple both neatly cut-to-shape; also Large Diadem Perf 13 6d purple Watermark '12' SG 165b, minor staining, unused, Cat £475. (Qty 5 items)
1850-51 Sydney Views Soft Yellowish Paper 3d yellow-green SG 39, early impression with excellent definition, margins good to large, untidy bars cancel of Sydney, Cat £275.
1854-60 Large Diadems 6d grey SG 94 horizontal pair, margins close to huge, bars cancels, Cat £110+.
1856-59 'REGISTERED' (6d) orange-red & indigo being the 1888 reprint on hard yellowish paper, lower-left corner pair, margins good to enormous. RPSofL Certificate (2008). [It was a bad day for the Royal. They got the blue shade wrong, and noted thinning that we cannot see: this coarse paper exhibits some natural areas that are thinner than elsewhere, but the paper has not been damaged]
1885-86 Stamp Duty Overprinted 'POSTAGE' in Blue 10/- lilac & claret/bluish paper Perf 12 SG 241b, large-part o.g., Cat £225. [Gibbons do not note the blued paper]
OFFICIAL STAMPS: 1880-87 Type 1 'O S' 5/- Coin Perf 11 SG O18 marginal horizontal pair from the base of the sheet, well centred, light & somewhat untidy Sydney duplex cancels of DE23/87, Cat £170++. A rare multiple, in fact the only used multiple of which we are aware. [Gibbons state that Perf 11 was issued in 1888: this can now be taken back to December 1887]
OFFICIAL STAMPS: 1882-85 Wmk '40' 3d yellow-green with Watermark Sideways SG O22a, rounded corner at upper-right, imperforate sheet margin at the base, large-part o.g. Unpriced by Gibbons.
POSTAGE DUES: Selection on display pages with ½d to 8d various perfs but complete with watermark upright & inverted all used plus 5/- 10/- x2 & 20/- x2 all CTO, 1d to 20/- faded set with 'Specimen' opt, ½d to 20/- with 'SPECIMEN' opt (all unmounted & rare thus), etc, condition variable. NEW SOUTH WALES - Postal History
1836 (Oct 1) front (& black-flap) with an unusually fine strike of the rare undated 'HINTON/[crown]/ N.S.W' handstamp (#C30; ERD), rated "7d" for carriage between 30 & 50 miles, GPO transit d/s, various British markings including boxed 'INDIA LETTER/DEAL' & rated "1/-" for an inwards packet letter. Rare: absent from Brian Peace's collection. PO 28/8/1835; closed 1846.
