VICTORIA LAND: Collector\'s cover with \'BRITISH ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION 1907\' imprint in blue and rare albeit philatelic franking of 1) KEVII Land 1d tied by Expedition cds of FE27/08 in green with another strike alongside in black, 2) Victoria Land ½d pair - a very scarce multiple - with cds of FE4/13 & 3) 1d with cds of 3MR/12; & 4) 1d with No Stop After \'LAND \' with cds of 9FE/11 also tying British Charles Dickens \'A TRIBUTE TO GENIUS\' label; the stamps Cat £2400+. An attractive souvenir of the Expedition. [We doubt if the Dickens label was issued as early as February 1911. If that is the case, the cds was back-dated to cancel at least the No Stop stamp] [** Our supposition that the Dickens label had not been issued by early-1911 is incorrect. In fact, it was released in November 1910 by "Strand" magazine in London. This fact should enhance the desirability of this unusual cover **]
