1907 Emergency Printings on Victorian Crown/Double-Lined A Paper d to 2/6d SG 353-363 plus 6d shade, the 1d & 2d (tonespots) are upper-right corner examples with No Watermark BW #N14ab & N19ac, large-part o.g. with the d to 4d being unmounted, Cat 380++ ($845, mounted). [This issue is significantly underrated. While several denominations are quite common, the ACSC states that of the 2d 36,480 were printed, while only 6240 of each of the 8d 10d & 2/6d were printed. The Victorian paper was of a different size from the NSW paper & the ACSC notes that "...stamps without watermark occasionally occur in the last column"] [** Note that the watermark is incorrectly stated in the catalogue to be V/Crown. In fact, it is Crown/Double-Lined \'A\' called by Gibbons W w11 and which was sourced from Victoria. Also, the d is SG 333 not SG 353 **]

1907 Emergency Printings on Victorian V/Crown Paper 2d deep blue SG 356 (BW #N22) partly-severed horizontal pair tied to double-rate commercial cover to the United States by two of three strikes of the scarce 'TPO 1 NORTH/DOWN.../ 2 /NSW' cds, the stamps with exceptional centring, the cover creased at left & minor blemishes, Cat 240+ x12+ ($600+; unpriced on cover). Offered "as is" because we cannot confirm that the stamps are from the 1907 Emergency Printing. The estimate reflects the TPO usage.

1907-11 Crown/A Perf 13x11-12,d to 6d SG 301-307 matching marginal vertical strips of 3 from the top of the sheets, the lower units lightly mounted otherwise unmounted, plus 1/- SG 308 upper-right corner block of 9, unmounted, Cat 500++ as mounted singles ($3900 as mounted strips of 3). [The ACSC at page 1/57 states "This was originally a machine for perforating lettercards, which was converted to a vertical comb in mid-1911. The gauge of the vertical line was variable, the stamps of the first row measuring 11, the second row 11, the third row 12 & the fourth to twelfth rows 12-12. It is customary to collect these variations in vertical strips (of 3)". Tim Schofield's selection of strips & blocks - Cat 8000+ - sold for $1610 at our auction of 5/12/2009. Clearly the value is depressed by Gibbons not listing se-tenant strips of 3] {The illustration for this lot is on the previous page, above Lot 47} (Qty 8 items)
