THAILAND: 1944 Japanese POW Postal Card with brief multiple-choice message, from an Australian soldier at No 1 POW Camp to Western Australia.
THAILAND: Two stampless covers endorsed "Ex POW Mail" with 'AUST FIELD PO/27SE45/251' cds in violet used at Changi, or 'No 2 AUST BASE PO/26SE45/-F-' cds used at Melbourne, the latter with 'PASSED FREE/OF POSTAGE' h/s, both endosed by the recipient as having originated at Bangkok. Both Proud & Collas note that FPO 249 cds was sent to Bangkok but that no usage is recorded. Collas states that a detachment from the Changi Postal Unit took '249' with them to Bangkok but these covers suggest it may never have been used. It would appear the mail was sent in a sealed bag for processing at Singapore] (Qty 2)
