Marshalls selection with real photo PPCs (3, unused), group of Postal Cards with five used (a couple apparently commercial) etc, also New Guinea postmarks x15 mostly on piece; plus nine superb but forged postal cards! from various Colonies.
CAROLINE ISLANDS: Postmarks selection on separate pieces comprising 'YAP' on 4 values, 'TRUK' on 3mk, 'PONAPE' on 2mk, 'ANGAUR' on 20pf, and '.../PONAPE/[posthorn]' mailbag seal on 3pf to 1mk complete plus on a 10pf bisect on PPC to 'YAP'; also 'Palau/(Paulau-Inseln)' registration label. CAROLINE ISLANDS: 1905 (July) philatelic cover with 80pf tied by one of two strikes of the Ponape mailbag seal, 'JALUIT' arrival b/s. Superb! Steuer Certificate (2008) states that a typhoon destroyed the Ponape post office in April 1905 & that the mailbag seal was used as a provisional canceller until a new cds arrived from Germany.

CAROLINE ISLANDS: 1902 Post Office cover (200x140mm) with 'BEZIRKSAMT/[arms]/PONAPE' cachet on the flap, to the Marianas "via Yokohama" with rare commercial franking of 10pf and 50pf tied by Ponape cds, 'Ponape/(Karolinen)/ Eingeschreiben' registration label, Hong Kong & rubber 'YOKOHAMA/JAPAN' transit b/s & 'SAIPAN/MARIANEN' arrival cds on the face, minor wrinkles.
CAROLINE ISLANDS: 1909 apparently commercial usage of PPC of "Postdampfer Germania" with message headed "Angaur 21 2 09", to Germany with Marshall Islands 5pf tied by 'DEUTSCHE SEEPOST/JALUIT-LINIE/21 2 b /09' cds.
CAROLINE ISLANDS: c.1910 commercial PPC ("Yap Westkarolinen/Dorfstrasse") to Germany unusually with German New Guinea 5pf tied by the very scarce 'DEUTSCHE SEEPOST/JALUIT-/LINIE/ b ' cds used aboard the "Germania".
CAROLINE ISLANDS: 1910 apparently commercial cover with 'SUDSEE-EXPEDITION/DER/HAMBURGISCHEN WISSENSCHAFT LICHEN/STIFTUNG' imprint on the flap, to Germany with 20pf bisect Mi 10H tied by 'PONAPE/KAROLINEN/12 10/07' cds & a reasonable strike alongside of the second-type mailbag seal ('PONAPE' shorter than 'KAROLINEN'), horizontal and vertical folds, Cat €9000. Bothe Certificate (1967).Friedemann at page 773 states that demand from sailors aboard a visiting naval squadron depleted stocks of the 5pf and 10pf value, resulting in the '5pf' on 3pf Provisional Surcharge and the 20pf provisional bisect. At page 775, it is stated that about 500 covers were processed with the 20pf bisect.
CAROLINE ISLANDS: 1910 missionary's cover with 'Liebenzeller Mission/Truk Carolinen' imprint at upper-left and boxed 'Reichspostdampfer/Germania' ship's cachet, registered to Germany with combination franking of German 10pf and Carolines 10pf pair tied by the very scarce 'DEUTSCHE SEEPOST/JALUIT-/LINIE/22 9 b /10' cds, 'Deutsche Seepost/Jaluit-Linie' registration label, 'FRIEDRICHSHAGEN' arrival b/s, a couple of very minor blemishes. An exceptional cover.
CAROLINE ISLANDS: 1911 registered cover to Germany with manuscript "Hopil [?] 18.5.1911" & 'Orion' ship's handstamp in violet below 40pf which is tied by 'PONAPE/(KAROLINEN)/9 6/11' cds, 'Ponape/(Ost-Karolinen)' registration label, 'PFORZHEIM' arrival b/s, minor blemishes.
CAROLINE ISLANDS: 1911 commercial cover with sender's endorsement on the flap indicating the cover originated at Rabaul (German New Guinea), to Schwerin with Carolines 5pf pair tied by 'ANGAUR/PALAU-INSELN' cds, minor opening fault at upper-left.
CAROLINE ISLANDS: 1911 mourning cover to Bohemia with 25pf tied by Ponape cds, 'Ponape/(Karolinen)' registration label, very fine 'KROMBACH/BOHMEN' arrival b/s, minor stain at the base.
CAROLINE ISLANDS: 1912 PPC of the township at Jap [sic] with message headed "Yap 30 I 12", to Germany with 5pf uncancelled, Japanese 4sn added in transit & tied by superb 'KEELUNG/TAIWAN/JAPAN' cds, minor blemishes. Most unusual.
CAROLINE ISLANDS: 1912 philatelic cover to Germany, 20pf with manuscript cancellation "1 4 12/Kussei" & tied by straight-line 'RDS DELPHIN' in violet. Very attractive & illustrated by Friedemann at page 792 but adjudged by him to be an unauthorised confection.
CAROLINE ISLANDS: 1914 local philatelic usage of 10pf(+10pf) Reply Card message-half with typed surcharge "I.J.O./Ponape/4 sen", Japanese cds & superb strike of a large "chop" in vermilion.
KIAUTSCHOU: 1905 Chinese Currency Yachts $2½ with 26x17 perforation holes Mi 27A, well centred, Mansfeld guarantee h/s on the reverse, lightly mounted, Cat €1800. Thomas Hartung Certificate (2010) mentions a "kleiner falzrest" (= hinge remainder), that we were able to quickly remove.
KIAUTSCHOU: 1905 Chinese Currency Yachts $2½ with 25x16 perforation holes Mi 27B, very lightly mounted, Cat €2600. Michael Jäschke-Lantelme Certificate (2008).
KIAUTSCHOU: 1905 Lozenges Watermark 2c green Imperforate Mi 29aU marginal example from the right of the sheet, unmounted, Cat €1700. Superb! Ex Reichsdruckerei Archives. Ronald Steuer Certificate (1998) states that one sheet of 100 was sold at auction in 1997.
