[By this time the registration fee had been reduced to 4d]

1876 double-rate cover to London "Per P&O China" with Diadem 8d yellow & De La Rue 1/- black tied by 'NSW' "bootheel" cancels & London arrival d/s of 26AU76 in red, very fine 'REGISTERED/SYDNEY NSW' d/s in violet at lower-left, minor blemishes. BPA Certificate (1975). Actually carried per "Avoca", departed Sydney 8/7/1876; then "China", departed Melbourne 11/7/1876; "Mongolia", departed Galle 2/8/1876; & "Travancore", departed Alexandria 20/8/1876, arrived Brindisi 24/8/1876. The long route mails arrived at Southampton 3/9/1876. [The rate paid - 8d x2 - paid for carriage per the long sea route. However, the arrival d/s proves it was sent via Brindisi]
