Beautifully presented collection written-up in Danish with a very attractive array of fine used stamps in all values including Smooth Paper 1d red Pre-Substituted Clichés (both) & Substituted Clichés (both), Rough Paper 1d red Substituted Clichés (both), 4d orange Line through Value, 5d strip of 3 CTO from the Madagascar UPU Collection etc. The strength is in the covers - almost all commercial - including many to Scandinavia (a few with Postage Dues added), others to Italy, France & Chile, better frankings including 1d red Die III on 1920 4d Registration Envelope, 1d violet x4 to Denmark, ½d green 4d lemon & 6d Roo on 1917 triple-rate Censor cover to Switzerland, 4d blue to the USA, etc. All in all a lovely lot, offered completely intact. 1914 (Sep 18) cover to the USA with Kangaroo 1d red Coil Strip of 3 (with the characteristic trimmed perfs at right) tied by 'QUEENSCLIFF' cds, red/white 'OPENED BY/CENSOR' label, toning/staining. A very rare usage. [The sender presumably had a supply of coil stamps with him & used a strip of 3 rather than source a ½d to make up the correct 2½d rate. With the enclosed PPC "Ballarat YMCA Field Service Equipment Queenscliff 1914", faults on the reverse] (Qty 2 items)
