A very good lot. **The '038' cover described as used in Sarawak is incorrect, it is 1944 used in QLD - The estimate has been reduced to $500**

NAURU: 1945 Ray Baldwin cover to Sydney with 3d x2 tied by a largely fine strike of 'AUST UNIT POSTAL STN/28NO45/31.' cds, rubber registration cachet endorsed "UPO 313" in red, minor blemishes, superb Sydney arrival b/s of 6DE45. One of the most desirable & significant datestamp rarities of the entire WWII field. Proud "N.S." (= Not Seen). [Collas at page 168 states "In September 1945 it was allocated to a detachment of 31/51 Btn sent to occupy and garrison Nauru". The remnants of the beleagured Japanese garrison surrendered on 13/9/1945 & were evacuated to Bougainville]
