1834 entire headed "Cape Town/Cape of Good Hope/Febr 15th 1834" to "Mr George Atkinson/Perth or elsewhere/ on the Swan River" endorsed "Per Quebec Trader" rated "4" in red & with a largely very fine strike of the undated oval 'SHIP LETTER/[crown]/CAPE OF GOOD HOPE' h/s. Remarkably fine, and a very early inwards item to the Colony, which was founded only five years earlier. The "Quebec Trader" departed Cape Town on 18/2/1834 and arrived in Fremantle on 19/4/1834. [George Atkinson arrived in Perth per "Medina" in July 1830, and worked as a carpenter until his death in 1843]
