WESTERN AUSTRALIA - 1860-1864 Printed in Perth/Perkins Bacon Plates
SIX PENCE - IMPERFORATE: 6d sage-green SG 28, margins close to good except where just touching at upper-right, unused, Cat £2000. [There is evidence of rouletting on all sides but we doubt if this stamp would be accepted by most people as a rouletted example]
SIX PENCE - IMPERFORATE: 6d sage-green SG 28, margins close to large, tied to a small irregular piece by 15-bars '8' cancel of Fremantle, Cat £400. Alex Rendon Certificate (1989). [The 6d is a common stamp. However, examples with full margins are very elusive]
SIX PENCE - IMPERFORATE: 6d sage-green SG 28, margins close to good, tied to a small piece by 15-bars '2' cancel of Perth in blue, Cat £400. Alex Rendon Certificate (1989).
SIX PENCE - ROULETTED: 6d sage-green SG 32 with rouletting on all sides and margins close to good except where just touching at left, light 15-bars '3' cancel of Perth, Cat £650. Much scarcer than the modest premium in Gibbons would suggest.
SIX PENCE - ROULETTED: 6d sage-green SG 32 with rouletting on all sides and margins close to large except where just touching at upper-right, 15-bars '1' cancel of Perth, Cat £650.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA - 1861 Printed by Perkins Bacon

INTERMEDIATE PERF 14-16: 1d rose SG 33 marginal pair from the right of the sheet, the margin reinforced with small hinges, unused, Cat £1300+. A rare multiple. Ex Dr Cecil Walkley, where misidentified as the Very Rough Perf 1d rose-carmine SG 44.
INTERMEDIATE PERF 14-16: 1d rose SG 33 with large-part '[crown]/--- 1d' Stock Control Mark printed (inverted) in rose on the reverse, unused, Cat £650+. Rare and desirable.

INTERMEDIATE PERF 14-16: 4d vermilion SG 35, a trifle soiled, unused, Cat £1500. An underrated stamp: Mogens Juhl estimated only about 40 unused examples exist. [Dr Cecil Walkley's similar example sold for $1207] [Illustration above Lot 118]
INTERMEDIATE PERF 14-16: 6d brown-purple SG 36, perforations into the design at top & at left but cut from the sheet to preserve the design & apparently imperforate, unused, Cat £850. Another underrated stamp. Absent from Dr Cecil Walkley's collection.
