OLYMPIC GAMES: '.../[torch & map]/22NOV/1956/MAIN STADIUM (PRESS)...' APM1170 (first day of usage) superb strike on ½d & Olympics 4d on Deinhard advertising PPC (an Australian Rules football match at the MCG) with printed message, by sea to West Germany.
ANTARCTICA: c.1908 Cerebos table salt chromo-litho advertising card with 4 views including Captain Scott in the Antarctic, used at 'RAILTON/TAS' in 1908. A beautiful card. [An unused example sold for $218 at our auction of 14/8/2010]

1913 advertising covers 1) For Harringtons (photographers) to New York with 1d only & taxed but Postage Due 2c pair removed, flap missing; 2) for Gordon & Gotch Press Agency to Boston; 3) for TH Wood Seed Merchant Brisbane-Charters Towers with 'NOT KNOWN BY/...' & 'UNCLAIMED/...' h/s, a beautiful item but sadly stained; 4 & 5) for Massey-Harris Farm Machinery Launceston-Campbell Town with different all-over illustrations on the reverse; also 6) 1918 for Methodist Book Depot to New York with 'Passed' h/s in violet.(Qty 6)

ENVELOPES - STO: 1893 usage of 1d violet with all-over advert for Wall & Molesworth Forwarding Agents on the reverse, to Germany with ½d grey & 1d violet tied by 'THE EXCHANGE/NSW - 1134' duplex, superb 'HAMBURG' arrival cds on the face.
ENVELOPES - STO: 1900 local usage of ½d grey with United Steam Ship Co imprint on the flap, unsealed as required for printed matter.

ENVELOPES - STO: 1909 2d blue-green PTPO Envelope for AG Webster & Son's "Planet Jr" hand-held tillers with illustrated coloured advertising on both sides, to Launceston with Hobart continuous-machine cancel, repaired tear across the flap. Rare, beautiful, & highly desirable. Ex Ray Kelly & Kevin Nelson.
WRAPPERS: 1890s 2d green HG KE4 (? "1d green" ?) for "The Tasmanian Mail", to London with 'HOBART'-in-bars cancel.

1891 illustrated advertising cover for R Hanna & Co to the parent company in Kansas, Reading 1d orange-brown strip of 6 with Melbourne duplex cancels, San Francisco transit & 'STERLING/KAS' arrival b/s. [The "infernal contraption" pictured is a Portable Vapor Cooking Stove (!)]

15-BAR NUMERALS: '12' fine strike on ½d Postal Card locally addressed at Perth with Swan River Mechanics Institute advice dated 27/3/1886. [This appears to be an unrecorded usage at the GPO. '12' is recorded on covers cancelled at Northam until 1870 & at Claremont from 1895. In the absence of a cds, the case for use at Perth is supported by the Perth dateline on the reverse; and the town letter rate (Claremont is mid-way between Perth & Fremantle)]

POSTAL CARDS: 1909 New Style (128x94mm) 1d "Paris" blue on Unbordered & Unsurfaced Stock PC17, printed address for Burns Philp & advice re return of empty beer barrels, unused. Superb!
POSTAL CARDS: 1912 'ONE PENNY.' in Blue on 2d carmine PC20 with printed advice for the Karrakatta Club, to Cottesloe with poor machine cancel.
1961 Qantas commercial airmail to NSW with 'BY AIR/FROM/KEELING COCOS/ISLANDS' cachet in blue & 5d Christmas tied by Cocos #2 cds, minor tonespots & stained on the reverse. Rare. [This recent discovery is now the latest of only six recorded usages, and only the second in the Territory period. It may also be the only example in blue. An example on 1957 PPC to England sold for $661 at our auction of 22/2/2013]
1966 Re-Introduction of Australian Stamps Wesley FDC with QEII 4c booklet pane 'Registered/Post is/Safest/for your/Gifts' tied by Cocos cds #3 of 14FE66, small Gower address label. Rare. [The 1963 Pictorials were not replaced when Decimal Currency was introduced, and Australian stamps were again used for the next three years]
Selection comprising 1d x21 (including 4 pairs & a strip of 3), 2d x9 (including two pairs & a strip of 3), 3d x6, 4d x8 & 5d x2 all with unusual cancellations including Railway TPOs x12, boxed 'LOOSE LETTER' x10, and arrival cancels of Hobart, Sydney x11 & Suva, generally fine. (Qty 35 items)
Research album with an annotated array identifying the users & the different sub-types, varieties including Misplaced Adverts etc, lots of pairs, mostly red shades but some in purple, green & blue. An excellent lot for further study. (Qty 600+)
