Robert Archibald Alison Morehead, the writer's business partner, acquired great wealth as a buyer of mortgages, later moving into large-scale pastoral ventures and mining enterprises.

Crown Lands/Maranoa District/via Warialda" with Sydney Views Plate II (Clouds) 1d brownish red SG 12 horizontal pair [13-14] (margins just clear - at left - to large) tied by two strikes of bars cancel of Sydney (b/s), oval 'WARIALDA' arrival b/s & redirected to Wee Waa with manuscript "to pay 2d", poor 'ARMIDALE' & fine 'TAMWORTH/[crown]/DE*5/1850/NEW.S.WALES' b/s plus a second Tamworth b/s pf DC*8, professionally cleaned & with faint "AD" (= Alberto Diena) in pencil on the face. Ex "Manwood" & "Carrington" (Mark Dankin). BPA Certificate (1977). An exceptional "Sydney Views" cover, especially for the redirection fee, making this a very early stamped postage due cover.
