1937 vertical format airmail cover to Devon with 6d Small Kookaburra, 1/6d Hermes block of 4 & KGV CofA Wmk 1/4d turquoise 'L'-shaped strip of 3 tied by 'SANDRINGHAM/VIC' cds, central fold. Most attractive. [The rate was 1/6d x7 = 10/6d]
1940 commercial usage of KGVI 1½d Postal Card endorsed "Aust-NZ-UK" , by trans-Pacific "Clipper" to Harmers of London with 1½d & KGV 1/4d blue-green x2 tied by Sydney cds, superb Censor h/s in violet. [The postcard rate was 2/11d. The letter rate was 5/10d. The writer requests the return of an unsold auction lot & for it to be insured! Was there a war raging?]
