1911 2/- (State Stamps) with South Australian ½d GPO block of 12 (severed) & 1d QV block of 18 as BW #B6(S) with Reset Sans Serif Text on the Back Cover, Cat $6000+. [The ACSC records the sans serif text for NSW only, with only a single booklet recorded. NB: the halves of the cover have been separated & the booklet appears to have been reconstructed, in the course of which the lower arm of the staple has been lost. However, our assessment is that all the components are original]
CENTENARIES etc: 1936 South Australia 's Centenary poster stamps x9 including "Bradman" Cricket, Tennis & Scout Corroboree plus 4 on covers, green & gold foil label on commercial cover, advertising labels for Grosvenor Hotel & Colton's Hardware (on commercial cover) etc, also advertising cover for John Martin's Department Store, the condition is variable. Box with 1934 Melbourne Pigeon Flight with Pigeongram, three different 1930s flight envelopes unused & very scarce thus, 1952 Australia-South Africa three with different watercolour illustrations by Jack Peake, 1960s-2001 slightly duplicated range with strong South Australian content, group of Aerogrammes with flight cachets, etc, generally very fine. 1860-69 Second Rouletted Issue 'TEN PENCE' in Blue on 9d yellow SG 36, rouletting clear of the design on all sides, unused, Cat £500. An unusually fine example.
DEPARTMENTAL OVERPRINTS: 'P.' of Police in Blue on De La Rue 2d dull orange Wmk Crown/SA Reversed horizontal pair Imperforate Between, small scissor-cut at upper-left, GPO cds of NO24/69. Rated RRRRR.
CARRIER STAMPS: c.1897 JR Cocking with '37 CURRIE STREET' at the Top 6d red, a few small faults, on original parcel piece. Rare. [A similar example but in blue sold for $2185 at our auction of 7/5/2013]
CARRIER STAMPS: 1890s W McCulloch & Co with 'SIXPENCE.' 25mm Long 6d dull green with superb 'McCulloch Combe Green & Co' handstamp diagonally in purple-black, small fault at left & two repaired tears. Rare. [A similar example but in turquoise - wrongly listed under Victoria - sold for $1667 at our auction of 7/5/2013]
CARRIER STAMPS: 1900 local usage of 1d Postal Card to "McCulloch Combe Green & Co" with oval 'McCULLOCH CARRYING COY LTD/2MAY00/ADELAIDE' cachet in violet on the face, minor blemishes.

1868 small cover with Rouletted 2d tied by 'ANGASTON' cds, to Little Hampton but endorsed "Missent to Kapunda" with 'P-O/ AP27/68/RAILWAY' transit & 'KAPUNDA' arrival b/s, re-sent & with partial 'LITTLE-HAMPTON/ AP30/68/SA' arrival b/s.
POSTMARKS: Port Adelaide Railway 'PT ADELAIDE RLY STN/SE21/06/SA' squared-circle virtually complete very fine strike on Thin 'POSTAGE' 1/- brown. Rated XXX. [A registered cover sold for $719 at our auction of 23/9/2011]

POSTAL CARDS: 1908 Adelaide Printings (Stop after 'AUSTRALIA') "PRINCE ALFRED COLLEGE" in crimson (surfaced back, very fine), "SAVINGS BANK" in orange-brown & in greenish black, "STACK OF WHEAT" in purple-black with surfaced back, "WOOL CARTING" in greenish blue (discolouration at right); and Melbourne Printings (No Stop) "CLARENDON" in claret (surfaced back, very fine); a few minor blemishes, unused.(Qty 6)
POSTAL CARDS: 1908 1d for the Visit of the US Fleet HG 9, unused. [Only 4500 were sold, of which more than half were sold on the day of issue]
