OLYMPIC GAMES: '[MCG]/8DEC1956/MAIN STADIUM...' APM1159 (last day of use) largely very fine strike on 10d Olympics aerogramme to Minnesota. [The writer states "I am writing this on the wall of the Mobile Post Office...what a pity the Olympic Games are over...bad luck Russia got the highest firsts. Australia did well but we lost 3 medals over protests..."]

SUBJECTS MASONIC: Fascinating collection from Australia, United States, Great Britain & oddments from Bermuda, Jamaica, France, Philippines etc, 50+ formal photos of high ranking masons in full regalia (one soliciting votes for "the Bottom Chair"), many are real photo types & the British include five beautiful Knighton & Cutts watercolours of "Royal Masonic School Bushey", condition variable but generally fine to very fine. SUBJECTS Bundle of anti-Axis cards including "Nazi Nursery Rhymes" (7, very clever), lots of anti-Adolf including a few very poignant types, good lot featuring Hitler/Mussolini/Tojo, highly offensive anti-Japanese group, generally fine to very fine. 1913 (Dec) registered use of American 2c Envelope uprated with 1c 2c & 10c tied by undated Pittsburgh cancels, light but obvious strike of the scarce 'HM CUSTOMS/PASSED/PERTH' cachet in rosine on the face, a little soiled. [Very early in World War I, the Customs h/s was used as a censor marking: only three examples recorded]

AIRGRAPHS: Partly mounted & annotated collection with British & Australian forms and envelopes plus US V-Graphs, some are illustrated, an original form SAust to Qld with 5d Ram on the reverse & 'TRANSMITTED BY ORDINARY MAIL/NO AIRGRAPH SERVICE...' h/s in violet (rare but water-stained), also several unused forms including the rare Qantas 1943 Christmas issue & a small piece of original microfilm, generally fine to very fine. Ex Andy Jansen. As good a lot as we have seen of Australian material.(Qty 59 items)
AIRGRAPHS: 1944 original form from the Anglican Mission in Papua to New York with largely fine strike of the rare 'AIRGRAPH MAIL GPO/30JE44/QLD-AUST' cds & endorsed "NO AIRGRAPH SERVICE" which is confirmed in a postscript to the chatty letter, the reverse with 1d & 3d strip of 3 tied by two poor to fair strikes of the Airgraph cds & large boxed 'RETURNED TO SENDER/REASON ("No Service New York")' cachet, forwarded under cover, minor blemishes.
