SPECIMEN FOLDERS: c.1934 brown/dark grey horizontal format inscribed 'SET/OF/AUSTRALIAN POSTAGE STAMPS' with Kangaroos to 5/-, perf 'OS' 2/- 5/- & 10/- plus 'SPECIMEN' Overprints Third Wmk £1 grey & CofA Wmk 10/- Type C with the very scarce Shaved 'P' (only the second example we have seen in a specimen folder) & £2, Engraved Kooka, KGV to 1/4d plus some 'OS' perfins & overprints, commemoratives including 5/- Bridge, Kingsford Smith optd 'OS' 2d & 3d, etc, a couple of stray tonespots noted but generally very fine to superb. C of A KANGAROOS - 1st Watermark
3ZZ 1d red Dies II-I Horizontal Pair, the right-hand unit being a Die I Substitution in a Die II Plate, 'LAUNCESTON/21AU13/TASMANIA' cds just clear of the Die I Break in the Frame at Lower-Left, a couple of small defects hardly detract from this exciting new discovery, the existence of which had previously not even been speculated about. Technically, this is one of the most important items in the entire Kangaroo series. RPSofV Certificate (2013). See ACCC "Bulletin" (June 2013). [A fantastic new find on the 100th Birthday of Australia's first Commonwealth stamp]

59(4)z 1d red Plate 'No. 4' complete sheet of 120 with listed varieties BW #59(4)d-q plus the four imprint positions, minor perf separation, Cat $1750+. [The sheet is housed in a presentation frame so the condition of the reverse cannot be verified, but the fresh facial appearance suggests the entire sheet is of very fine quality]

Accumulation in stockbook & small tubs, stated to include Penny Reds x1500+ and good numbers of most values & watermarks to 1/4d (including SMult Wmk Perf 14 x3, a bit grotty), 100s of perf 'OS' including better values, some multiples noted & many are on piece, probably checked for varieties but worth evaluation, some postmark interest. 125 'FIVE/PENCE' on 4½d violet BW #125 marginal block of 4 from the top of the sheet, the lower right unit with unlisted 'FIVF' for 'FIVE' variety, some characteristic rough perfs, a little aged, unmounted. An unlisted variety not previously seen by us.

We noted 3d blue Dies including White Wattles mint & Die II Thick Paper imprint block of 4 (*/**), Perf 13½x14 9d Platypus block of 18 used, 2d scarlet coil pair with coil perforation mint, Robes Thick Paper 10/- imprint block of 4 (*/**), NSW Sesqui 2d Man with Tail used, 1942 2d coil pairs *&U, BCOF 5/- Thick Paper mint; also a selection of mostly philatelic covers including with 3d blue Die I imprint block of 4, with BCOF set to 5/- Thin Paper tied by APO 214 cds, etc, generally fine to very fine. 1937-49 Definitives Perf 13½x14 1d green Die I marginal block of 8 (4x2) from the top of the sheet, the four right-hand units affected by a major Doctor Blade Flaw that gives the impression of an unlisted Dry Ink Printing, two units lightly mounted otherwise unmounted. Dramatic!
1937-49 Definitives Perf 13½x14 3d blue Die II on Thin Paper imprint block of 8 BW #194za, well centred, unmounted, Cat $400+.
1937-49 Definitives Perf 14x15 2d scarlet Die II block of 6 (3x2) from the right of the sheet, impressive Doctor Blade Flaw through the central units, four units unmounted.
1937-49 Definitives Perf 14x15 2d red Die II (cds), 2d mauve (machine cancel) & '2½d' on 2d red (slogan cancel) all with the popular Medallion Flaw BW #188e, 189e & 222d unobscured by the postmarks, Cat $480.
1941 Surcharges '2½d' on 2d red with Medallion Flaw BW #222d, cds leaves the variety unobscured.
1942-50 Definitives 2½d red Imperforate Pair, unmounted, Cat $500. [See ACSC "King George VI" at page 29]
1964 Air Mail 5d sage-green upper-left corner block of 16 (4x4), the last unit with Re-Entry to Second 'A' of 'AUSTRALIA' & Rear of Fuselage BW #423d (SG 370a), unmounted, Cat $250 (£250).
