c.1870 (?) Torres Strait Settlement 4c to 36c complete (missing the 2c brown), the 4c is marginal, the 16c & 36c have one straight edge, unused. Very scarce "phantom" issue.

The Torres Strait labels offered here are all part of the "Brussels Find": see our auction #180 of 7/5/2013. . Most of these labels were stuck fast in a stiff paper "pancake". Some had been damaged as a result of a misguided attempt to separate them: they have been discarded. As a result of being soaked, most of the labels now have no gum. Remarkably, not a single example of the 2c brown was included in the find. (Qty 5)
