1886-96 'POSTAGE & REVENUE' Perf 10 50/- dull pink (no gum), 4 lemon-yellow (no gum) & 5 grey (large-part o.g.) each with 12x2mm 'SPECIMEN' Overprint, Cat 1200 for a set of 14. [The original Perf 10 issue is very scarce with 'SPECIMEN' Overprint. Despite Gibbons' note below SG 208a about most 'SPECIMEN' sets being reprints of the Perf 11-12 stamps, such sets are routinely advertised as being catalogued at 1200, with auction prices often approaching/exceeding $1000. Ex Ed Williams: sold for $308 at the Prestige auction of 26/1/2002. [Ed Williams stated that only one sheet of 60 was printed with the watermark inverted]
