1857-59 Hillman Lithographs 6d grey-black SG 19, good even margins, void-grid cancel, Cat £550. An attractive stamp.
1863 De La Rue Essay for a 1d White (!) Swan design imperforate plate proof in ultramarine on thin ungummed unwatermarked paper, reduced to stamp-size with close but complete margins. A lovely item. Ex Michael Brachi and Lord Vestey. [Presumably this design was rejected because the Colony had only black swans. Only four examples - in different colours - have been recorded]
1864-79 Crown/CC 2d imperforate colour trial in emerald-green on ungummed watermarked paper, margins close to large. Ex Lord Vestey. 1905-12 Crown/A 2d yellow with the Watermark Upright BW #W22aa (SG 140a), very well centred, a few short perfs, Fremantle cds of 2MY10, Cat $500 (£350). [The ACSC states that most sheets from this printing were surcharged 'ONE PENNY']
