However, just this year, his daughter decided to sell this last album. Included was a good range of Kangaroo imprint pairs & blocks that are also offered in this sale.

1949 Henry Lawson original pencil sketch on paper (folded to 170x129mm for display) by the distinguished artist Sir Lionel Lindsay with his notes to guide the engraver "This is an accident...this is the line of the hair...important shape...This is is missing..." and, significantly, "Eyebrows are a little tame they and the moustache are important accents like the blacks in the hair" BW #275E(2), Cat $1000. Ex ERM Jones (the engraver) and "Whiskers". A remarkable artefact. [This is almost certainly the item listed in the ACSC but noted there as being on "tracing paper"]

1949 Henry Lawson 2½d recessed die proof in carmine-lake BW #273DP(1), CBA cachet in violet on the reverse endorsed " 25 /2.6.49", Cat $3500. Ex "Whiskers". [The ACSC states that 8 die proofs were produced: one was given to the King, #55 was presented to WL Russell of the Stamp Advisory Committee]

1963-65 Navigators 4/- Abel Tasman die proof in blue on cream wove paper (69x70mm) affixed to a slightly larger piece before the impression was made & "tied" by the instrument number 'R684' in reverse at upper-left. A delightful & important proof. Ex "Whiskers". Superb! [The ACSC states that 10 recessed die proofs were produced: BW #404DP(1), Cat $4000. However, this item shows no evidence of having been removed from an RBA mount and appears to be a previously unrecorded die proof, of different - and, we suggest - somewhat greater significance than the presentation proofs]
