NEW SOUTH WALES
REPRINTS: 1887-90 Officials £1 violet & claret with seriffed 'O S' Overprint, CTO with 'GPO'-in-concentric-ovals cancel, 'Neudruck' (= "reprint") handstamp on the reverse. The issued stamp had sans serif 'O S'.
1886-96 'POSTAGE & REVENUE' Perf 10 2/6d violet to £20 mauve with 'SPECIMEN' Overprints 18mm on 2/6d & 5/-, 15mm on 50/-, 12½mm on the others, strong colours, large-part o.g. (the £3 is apparently unmounted), Cat £1200. As fine a set as we have seen. ['SPECIMEN' stamps from the original Perf 10 issue are much scarcer than the Perf 12½ reprints that were produced specifically to be overprinted 'SPECIMEN']

Miscellany with a very fine 1835 entire from Hobart Town with no Tasmanian markings but superb British '1' handstamp, a fine 4d Courier with full margins, Star Wmk 4d x5 in mixed condition (one on cover of 12SP1/1855, stated to be the earliest recorded usage), Sideface 3d corner example with Plate Scratch on 1900 philatelic cover, Tablets 2½d unmounted pane of 60 (some perf splitting), Pictorials 1d Imperf single used, Reprints of Chalon 6d & 1/- blocks of 8 and Sideface 4d blue Plate Number '3' block of 4 all without overprint and 'Halfpenny' on 1d Plate Number '1' block of 30 (6x5) with overprint, very fine unused second issue Letter Cards "RIVER DERWENT" x2 & "LAUNCESTON", etc. A very handy lot.
REVENUES - POSTAL NOTES: c.1918 CofA with '+++/POSTAGE STAMPS TO THE VALUE OF FIVE PENCE TO BE AFFIXED HEREIN/+++++' at Top in Red 'TASMANIA' 6d, severed along folds & rejoined, small piece missing at the base, 'WEST D'PORT/ 5JA18/TASMANIA' cds. [Tasmanian Postal Notes are the most elusive of all the States]
REVENUES - POSTAL NOTES: 1931 New Design with Coat of Arms at Left, All Text & Serial Numbers in Black and John Ash Imprint at the base on CofA Watermark Paper 'TASMANIA' 3/- superb, 1d maroon affixed at lower-left, 'OATLANDS/26JY44/TASMANIA' cds.
CTO trio with 1884-96 Large Stamp Duty 45/- mauve SG 277 (dated MR6/97), KEVII Perf 11 £1 rose & Perf 12½ £2 blue both punctured 'OS', no gum, Cat £640.
REVENUES: 1930-32 'RELIEF' Overprint on £100 vermilion-rose, excellent centring, neatly cancelled & with two small "star" punctures as usual, Elsmore Online Cat $150 (2009).
IMPERIAL PERIOD: 1897 Overprints on "Red Revenues" 'one cent.' on 3c Type A x2 (one unused, the other with trimmed perfs at right) & Type B, and '2/cents.' on 3c SG 88 88a & 89, a couple of minor blemishes, Cat £2200.
REPUBLICAN PERIOD: Revenues collection in two Hagner albums mainly Ships & Plane types including a quantity of Gold Yuan Surcharges, many blocks & interest in the cancellations, condition variable.
Perak 1895 Elephants $1 to $25 and Federated Malay States Elephants $1 $2 x2 & $5 single & vertical pair, oval fiscal datestamps. Nice lot.
TRENGGANU: Revenues 1944 Sailing Boat $5 orange block of 4, unmounted, Cat £60++.
MALAYA - Japanese Occupation
SARAWAK: 1942 Characters & Vertical Bars Revenues 4c 15c indigo & 20c and 1943 with Japanese "seal" 50c Bradbury Wilkinson Imprint blocks of 8 (4x2), unmounted, Cat $M576++ (2003).

1942 possibly commercial cover to a Japanese firm in Syonan with rare franking of Negri Sembilan 1c black with Violet Handstamp SG J161a vertical pair tied by 'KUALA LUMPUR/11 10/2602' cds plus 'DAI NIPPON/...' on Negri 6c grey with boxed Revenue handstamp Tan #FT3 - an invalid usage - not cancelled & with 'T'-in-triangle h/s below, 'DAI NIPPON/...' Overprints on Straits 2c orange - in lieu of Postage Due - & Postage Due 8c scarlet SG JD31 tied by bilingual '.../11 12/2602/SYONAN' cds, Japanese censor "chop" in black & censor's crimping at left. A very rare usage of an invalid revenue stamp and also of a postage stamp used to pay the postage due.
POSTAL FISCALS: 1931-58 Arms 1/3d x3 different to £1 complete plus £2 £2/10/- £3 & £5, the watermarks not checked, generally well centred, a few with some characteristic irregular/fluffy perfs, the 1/3d lemon 4/- 6/- 7/6d 10/- & 15/- are very lightly mounted, all the others are unmounted, Cat £1800+ minimum (CP $NZ4850 minimum).
POSTAL FISCALS: 1940-58 Arms '3/6' on 3/6d to '22/-' on 22/-, the watermarks not checked, well centred, the '5/6' on 5/6d & '11/-' on 11/- are very lightly mounted, the others are unmounted, Cat £640+ minimum (CP $NZ1280 minimum).
PAPUA NEW GUINEA - Issued Stamps
REVENUES: 1975 New Currency set to 'K20' plus a few shades, 1984 Surcharges twelve different to 'K10' on 5t, 1990s 'STAMP DUTY' Surcharges x19 of the 20 different (missing only the '20t' on 15t Aeroplane) plus the bogus 'K10.00' on 1t Hibiscus x2 (one inverted), 1994-95 'DEPARTURE TAX' 'K15' on 7t Kingfisher x3 different (used), plus a few extras & a few used, unmounted. Very scarce & colourful group. [With a file of letters & articles regarding the legitimacy of the various decimal surcharges]
REVENUES: 1990s 'STAMP DUTY' Surcharges complete "set" of the 20 different plus the bogus 'K10.00' on 1t Hibiscus x2 (one inverted), unmounted. Very scarce & colourful group. [Of the '20t' on 15t Aeroplane & '10t' on 70t Sandpiper, only 4 & about 12 examples respectively have been recorded]

1935-42 Arms £10 blue, well centred, the slightest evidence of having been mounted. Superb & rare: unlisted by Gibbons. Peter Holcombe Opinion (1993) states "solely for fiscal purposes".
