Oddments with German very early Zeppelin card (unused) & confected photo of the Kaiser with German Nobility, also 1896 & 1897 Local Postal Card & Letter Card with Exhibition labels; France 1909 of H Fournier & his Biplane with 'POST-AVIATION/18-10/09/(SINE-ET-OISE)' machine cancel; United States 1909 "President-elect Taft and family..." to France & 1911 to China with French & Japanese Post Offices in China datestamps; and Tonga gorgeous 1d Postal Card "Blow Holes/Houma-Tonga" used to Germany.

ADVERTISING: Mostly British & American cards for alcohol & other beverages including an unusually stout (pardon the pun) set of 6 "My Goodness - My Guiness", Cadbury Chocolate x6, Pears' Soap x3, "Girls Own" Magazine x6, French Neerlando-American Line card, political campaign card, "Montana Bill" promotional card, Australia mostly post-WWII x8 but including early Wertheim Pianos x2 & 1924 Bridestowe Lavender Farm (Tas), etc, condition rather variable but many are fine to very fine. ADVERTISING: SEWING MACHINES: c.1910 (?) American postcard-size cards with advertising for the Singer Manufacturing Co being artist cards featuring National Costumes & Sewing Machines used in some unlikely places including Albania, Georgia & Turkestan, some aging/toning on the reverse does not affect the very fine facial appearance; also a large-part packet for the set of 18; and Australian "Familiar Australian Singers" (Birds), unused.

ENTERTAINMENT: Box of mostly movie stars real photo cards, the majority from Hollywood with many Silent Movies stars including Charlie Chaplin (two excellent Little Tramp poses), Rudolph Valentino x15 (some of his "brother" Rodolfo!), Mary Pickford, Tom Mix, Clara Bow, Douglas Fairbanks & Dorothy Gish (Lillian's little sister) etc, plus 1930s Talkies stars including Jane Withers, Shirley Temple, Jackie Cooper, Clark Gable (without moustache!), Greta Garbo, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Robert Young, Maurice Chevalier, Ramon Novarro etc etc, also many very unfamiliar names, mostly posed portraits - many of the American studio cards have plain backs - but also many "stills" from films, some are British or European cards, mostly unused & generally very fine to superb. ENTERTAINMENT: Mounted collection of mostly Hollywood movie actors & actresses with earlier celebrities including Rudolph Valentino, Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, Fatty Arbuckle, Buster Keaton, Tom Mix, Roy Rogers, Ramon Navarro, Adolphe Menjou, Al Jolson (in white-face), Ethel Barrymore, Jackie Coogan, Laurel & Hardy, Marx Brothers, Maurice Chevalier, Gloria Swanson, Sonja Henie, Hedy Lamar, a swag of Shirley Temple including as a teenager (probably rare) & Rin Tin Tin (!), also Mack Sennett Comedies Bathing Belles x4, later cards including Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean & Bridget Bardot, most are studio portraits but we noted some more interesting types, also a range of garishly coloured linen cards of Movie Stars' Homes, condition generally fine to superb. 1908 Visit of the American "Great White Fleet" comprising real photos of arrival in Sydney x2 (one hand-tinted) & in Melbourne, Walter Davies Celebrations x2, Kimbel & Co and Crown Studios Military Review, Martin Place Bedecked, hand-tinted "On Deck of Connecticut" and four patriotic types, mostly unused & generally fine to very fine. Ex Bronte Watts. [At the time, the crowds in Sydney & Melbourne were the largest ever experienced in Australia]
1908 Visit of the American "Great White Fleet" better cards 1) The Fleet & Crossed Flags "Greetings to our American Friends", unused; 2) Robert Jolley Uncle Sam & Bushman with Crossed Flags "Australia Greets America", unused; 3) Theodore Roosevelt, Alfred Deakin, emblems & "In God we Both Trust"; 4) WTP of Admiral Sperry & Flags; and 5) Uncle Sam & Kangaroo Shaking Hands & "Cooee Australia Greets America". The last two are unusual vertical formats.

Historical mostly real photo group for 1908 Visit of the US Fleet, 1918 Victory Celebrations x3, 1920 Royal Visit, 1932 Anzac Day, Sydney Harbour Bridge Under Construction x4 & Opening x3 plus eleven small photographs of the construction, 1941 Welcome to HMAS "Sydney", etc, also a few unrelated cards, generally fine to very fine. STEREO CARDS: Selection of Rose cards for 1) 1901 Federation Celebrations x7 including Swearing-In Ceremony, Review of Troops, Wool Arch & French Arch etc; and 2) 1908 Visit of the American Fleet x15 including Ships, Official Reception, Fire Brigades Procession, Sailors Marching through Sydney, Children's Flag Drill, etc; some minor blemishes mostly on the backing-cards, the views generally very fine to superb! 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition (San Francisco) multicoloured "Scene on Emu Creek" and green-framed views "Pearling Fleet Thursday Island", "Brisbane from the Observatory", "Crop of Table Grapes" (used in America in 1916 & rare thus), "Store Cattle at Tamrookum", "Examining Tobacco leaf", "Sheep Station Rodney Downs" & "Bending Broom Millett", unused. Very scarce. [We have not previously seen the last four views]
ARCTIC: 1909 American Commodore Robert Peary group with Clinedinst framed portrait, "The North Pole...on the day of discovery", chromolitho card "Stars & Stripes Nailed to the North Pole" (superb postally used), FA Moss patriotics x2 & Dog Team (defective), also two Tuck "Oilette" cards with minor blemishes, unused.
