An extremely rare multiple. Budgeworgorai opened 1.9.1861; replaced by Roma 1/1/1864.

[Ken Scudder at page 122 states "On at least one occasion, a vertical line of perforations was omitted, as pairs imperforate between are known". Both stamps are also imperforate at the top]

1895 ½d green Void BackgroundPerf 12,13 with Double Impression SG 208a, light horizontal crease, large-part o.g. with a hinge remainder, Cat 2000. BPA Certificate (2009). Stated to be the only unused example recorded. [The first print was quite faint & was obviously considered unsatisfactory; the strong second print is 2mm to the right; with normal stamp for comparison. Ken Scudder at page 179 states "Clear double prints exist...probably all...from the same sheet of stamps". Unpriced by Gibbons until 2011, now listed at 2000 unused or used, but a less dramatic used example sold for SFr24,225 at a Swiss auction in 2003]
