C of A - First Day Covers
Huge accumulation of Decimal FDCs in four archive boxes up to 2000s, heavily duplicated in places, condition fine.
Australia Post Official FDCscollection 1970-2015 in albums and on 100s of Hagner pages including 1970 Expo, Royal Visit & Grasslands unaddressed, later issues with M/Ss, se-tenant pairs & strips, sheetlets, etc, also some AAT, condition fine.
1947-49 RobesThin Paper 10/- purple exceptionally centred marginal example tied to JC Thompson OHMS cover by 'GPO SYDNEY 130/17NO48/NSW-AUST' cds being the First Day of Issue ACSC #215y, Cat $7500. Superb! [The ACSC states "At least two first day covers exist on PMG's Department envelopes cancelled at the Sydney GPO"]
1948-49 Arms5/- 10/- marginal & £1 corner example on registered FDCs, Cat $1250; plus a faked £2 FDC on Wesley illustrated cover with backdated Largs North cds. [JM Gower was postmaster at Largs North (SA). He was notorious for supplying collectors with backdated strikes; often these can't be definitively exposed but there's no doubt about this one, as this style of cover was not introduced until the 1960s, and small nylon date wheels in the cancel were first introduced in Australia in 1956]

1970 National Development9c Bauxite pair on oversize Alcoa FDC with enclosed promotional booklet for the company; also Qld Geographical Society 1946 Leichhardt x2 different, one with QGS Leichhardt brochure, and 1946 Mitchell x3 different, one with QGS fundraising brochure. Unusual lot.

KGV Heads on cover noted 1916 ½d green combination franking on South Australia ½d GPO envelope (a very scarce item), 1d red on mourning cover with 'TPO 5/VICTORIA' d/s, 1931 1d green with ½d Postage Dues x4 and 1½d red to USA with 5c Due, two 1930s 'PAQUEBOT' items and a couple of 'OS' punctures, then extensive range of advertising covers including illustrated types for Harcourt (Vic) Fruit Supply [Apple Man], Emu Nail & Nightingale Supply with birds, WE Cash with map of Australia, Lowe Hardware Merchants with tools, Lysaght Bros Rabbit-proof wire netting, etc, some postmark interest, condition mixed but many fine.
Mostly pre-WWII advertising covers with many illustrated types including Aspro tablets, Foster's Lager beer bottle, Gippsland & Northern Co-op 'Twin City' Tractor, HJ Plint Markets (Brisbane), John Hicks Carpets, George IV Whisky, Scotch College (Perth) to USA taxed with Postage Dues, Toowoomba Foundry 1941 airmail to UK, also with all-over adverts on reverse NSW John Jaffray Machinery (damaged on opening) and Grand Hotel (Melbourne) & WS Tong Wholesale Fruiterer, a few airmails, meter cancels and quite a number of WWII censored items, etc, condition mixed but many fine.
C of A - Military - World War I
Mostly WWII with two albums of Australian Forces in the Middle East mostly with Egyptian stamps, album with US Forces in Australia plus some post-WWII material, also a loose bundle including a few naval transport cachets, two Robin Force covers from New Caledonia, 1941 Eritrean Campaign cover with Indian stamps tied by British FPO 186 cds, several from naval personnel in Ceylon with boxed 'PASSED BY CENSOR/.../Naval Establishment/NO...' cachets, 1945 from Italy to a POW in India forwarded with 'POW CAMP/GAYTHORNE QLD' cachet, 'AIF FIELD PO/7MY45/No 15' used at Green Island (Solomons; Proud 'Not Seen'), some registered, etc; also some later material including Korea 'CANADIAN LEGION' commercial cover with Australia/GB combination franking plus 'AUST ARMY PO/214' cds & GB RL endorsed "214"; and a Vietnam group including 1969 registered with 'AUST FPO/6OC69/ 3 ' & FPO 3 registration cachet, etc; condition variable. Ex Russell Stern.
Range with WWII including Red Cross Prisoner of War envelope airmail to Germany with 1/- Lyrebird plus three to Malayan POWs, Forces in Australia with variety of unit cachets, 'MIL PO' postmarks and service organisation imprints, a few illustrated covers, also groups from Egypt, Malaya noted 'POSTAGE PAID/25 CENTS/JOHORE' x4 and '.../MALAYA' x3, New Guinea, then BCOF Japan including oveprints, Registration cachets, Australian FPO cancels on GB and NZ stamps, plus a couple from Vietnam, condition mixed but many fine.
WORLD WAR II:Naval covers including 'PAQUEBOT' on KGVI 3d blue with 'PASSED BY CENSOR' cachet (Daynes N604), 1942 with two different 'POSTAGE CORRECT' cachets and Hobart censor label, 1943 with 'HMA HOSPITAL SHIP' cachet, various 'HM TRANSPORT' cachets including one with reversed 'N', RAN honour envelopes, airmail covers, 'PASSED FREE OF POSTAGE' cachets, Naval Shore stations, variety of censor markings including Tombstone 'HM SHIP' cachets and civilian labels, a few illustrated covers, service organisation envelopes, registered mail, also some post-war items including BCOF Japan, condition mixed but many fine.
