1934 Victoria CentenaryPerf 10½ 2d 3d & 1/- all CTO & handstamped 'SPECIMEN', affixed to small pieces from record book, minor blemishes. Ex Bill McCredie: acquired in 2012 for $920. Michael Drury Certificate (2004) states ex Portuguese India Archive.
VICTORIA - Postal History
1901OHMS envelope with 'ABORIGINES' imprint & 'CHIEF SECRETARY' Frank to Hamilton endorsed from "Condah" with poorly-struck 'MILLTOWN/NO11/01/VICTORIA' cds and Barred Numeral 'MCCCC/2' alongside, light but discernable 'M. V. I. I. STAHLE/ABORIGINAL MISSION STATION/LAKE CONDAH' cachet in violet on back, some staining and edge faults. [The Church of England Lake Condah Mission Station was established in 1867 with Johann Heinrich Stahle appointed in 1875 to run it, a position he occupied for 38 years until his retirement in June 1913. This is only the second item we have seen from the Mission Station, neither of which are recorded by Stieg & Watson]

Interesting array with USA 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition x7, South Africa including Zulu group & other native studies, Fiji including 'Cannibals' & many native studies, Egypt including beautiful chromo-lithos x14, a few Lebanon etc, condition variable but many are fine to very fine.

NEW GUINEA:Seven real photo cards by EA Hawnt (Rabaul) including two of Native Women & three of Masked Dancers - one a terrific photo of them in canoes - also ten photos of 1937 Volcanic Eruption at Rabaul and aftermath plus a few others including Burial Site decorated with Skulls, all fine; then c.1929 folded brochure 'The Golden Islands' promoting migration to New Guinea (minor edge faults). An interesting group.
NEW ZEALAND:Collection of Maori subjects mostly portraits many in native dress & some with face tattoos, also hakas, poi dances, whares & villages, etc, condition variable but many are fine to very fine.

PAPUA NEW GUINEA - Issued Stamps
1985 Ceremonial StructuresSmaller Format & Without 't' in the Design 10t to 60t, unmounted. Unissued. With a set of the issued stamps for comparison, in which the low value is 15t, not 10t as on the unissued stamp. [This is a weird situation. The unissued stamps were printed by Leigh Marden in Melbourne while the issued stamps were printed by the Spanish firm Heraclio Fournier]
