1903-11 Commonwealth Periodwith a selection of 'COMMONWEALTH' 9d including Crown/A mint Type A-B Pairs x8 (unlisted by Gibbons & the ACSC as se-tenant pairs) 1907-11 Crown/A to 2/- x6 (two mint) including ½d used block of 6 (must be rare), 1d Imperf strip of 4 (creased), 'OS' punctures to 1/- x5 including 1d with Double 'OS', Three-Perf Strips with ½d block of 30 with Grossly Misplaced Perforations, 1d blocks of 9 & 27 and a used strip of 3, 2d corner block of 9, 4d block of 30 (last two columns are Die II), 5d corner block of 6 & 1/- strip of 3, etc, condition a bit variable, Cat £5000+.

1903-06 Large ChalonsTypo 2/6d deep vermilion ACSC #Q53A (SG 270) mint & used x3 (two punctured 'OS'); and Litho Perf 12 5/- carmine #Q57 (SG 273) mint & £1 deep blue-green #Q64 (SG 274) mint & punctured 'OS' #Q64b CTO with virtually full o.g., Cat $1650 (£1200).
PUNCTURED 'OS':1906-10 'COMMONWEALTH' Crown/A Perf 11 9d brown & blue Type B ACSC #Q45Bb, well centred, indistinct cancellation, Cat $1500. Ex Bernie Manning: acquired at the Prestige auction of 13.6.2009 for $1667.

PUNCTURED 'OS':Mint 5/- (reversed) & 10/-, used 2/6d x3 (two reversed, the other in a most unusual shade) and CTO 2/6d & 5/-. Rare group: the 10/- is not listed in the ACSC which also doesn't record the reversed perfin varieties.
Useful collection with some earlies including Second Roulettes 2d & 4d unused & 2/- mint, '3-PENCE' in Red on 4d (possibly unused), then mostly mint including 50/- £4 & £15 with 'SPECIMEN' Overprint, Thin 'POSTAGE' to 5/-, Thick 'POSTAGE' to 5/- x2, 'O.S.' Overprints to 2/-, etc, condition variable but generally fine to very fine.
OFFICIAL STAMPS:Old-time collection on leaves mostly lower value material but with a few varieties noted plus a page of 'OS' & 'SA' perfins, the mint including Type 2 to 2/- x2, Perf 13 2d No Stop after 'S' SG O59b in pair, plus 'SA' perfins to 2/6d including 2½d block of 4, 5d block of 8, 3d 4d 6d 9d & 1/- pairs, etc, generally fine.

OFFICIAL STAMPS:DEPARTMENTAL OVERPRINTS: Useful group of mostly the more common users but including 'E.' on DLR 2d, 'H.A.' in Red on unused 2d & in black on Rouletted 6d (may both be forgeries), 'L.T.' on Perf 10 4d, 'M.R.' on Rouletted 4d & Perf 4d, 'P.A.' on DLR Perf 10 2d, 'P.W.' on DLR Rouletted 2d, 'T.' on 2/- rose-pink, etc, condition rather mixed but generally presentable to fine, also some obvious forgeries - a few dangerous ones - including 'A.O.' in blue, 'C.D.' in blue, 'D.R.' in red, 'G.S.', 'G.T.', 'I.A.', 'M.R.G.' & 'V.'

OVERPRINTS: Range on Hagners with 1874-77 1d SG O2 (perfs trimmed-off), 6d SG O9 unused pair, dubious 9d SG O11 & mint 2/- SG O13 (a bit aged), 1876-85 mint 4d violet-slate & 4d mauve, 6d, 1/- & 2/- strip of 3, 1891-1902 used 1/- strip of 4, 2/- strip of 5, 2/- with Strong Offset vertical strip of 4 (faults) and 2/- SG O35 two blocks of 4, 1882 ½d on 1d two used pairs, 1891 2½d on 4d SG O51 & O52 used pairs, 1891-96 2d SG O55 mint, 1891-99 used ½d SG O60 strips of 6 x3, ½d SG O63 strips of 6 x2 & strip of 8, ½d SG O64 strips of 4 & 6, ½d SG O65 strips of 3 x2, 4d No Stop after 'S ' SG O69a, 1891-95 2½d on 4d mint & Closer Fraction x2 in pairs and 5d on 6d mint, 1899-1901 2½d with the Overprint Inverted SG O83a used pair, etc, Cat £4000 approximately (not including SG O2 & O11).
OFFICIAL STAMPS:OFFICIAL PUNCTURES: Mostly 'SA' range with mint including Thick 'POSTAGE' Crown/SA 6d, 9d x2, 5/- x2 & £1 and Crown/A 3d x3, 4d x2, 6d, 1/- x2, 2/6d bright violet & 2/- deep purple (a couple of faults). Scarce lot.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA - Postal History
1894oversize cover (209x143mm) endorsed "On Public Service" addressed to "The President/International Post Philatelic Exhibition Committee/Milan/Italy" with 'OS' Overprints 2d SG O55 and 1/- SG O30 tied by 'REGISTERED ADELAIDE/AP21/94/SA' squared circle, 'R' in oval cachet and 'CORRESPONDENCE OFFICE/GPO' cds in violet alongside, 'MILANO/20/5-94' arrival b/s, central fold not affecting stamps, seal cut from back and a few aging marks. [Presumably used to send South Australian display material to the Exhibition]
1899(Nov 6) OPSO cover with 'Police Commissioner's Office' imprint at lower-left, to British Guiana with rare franking of Perf 10 '5D.' on 6d brown overprinted 'O.S.' SG O72 (Cat £18 x50+ on cover) tied by GPO cds, 'VICTORIA/BC' squared-circle transit b/s & 'GEORGETOWN/DEC29/B.GUIANA' arrival b/s, central fold & minor repaired tears at the top well clear of the stamp. Ex Anthony Presgrave. A remarkable destination & stated to be one of only three covers recorded with this stamp.
Modest collection with some better stamps including Star Wmk 1d (3 margins), No Wmk 4d, Perf 10 2d yellow-green, 'TASMANIA' 1/- plate proof single, Sidefaces 5/- apparently mint, etc, condition variable.
Worldwide collectionin seven chock-full springback albums mostly used but plenty of mint throughout including a few M/Ss, noted Australia & Colonies, New Zealand, Pacifics with New Guinea Birds 2/- 'OS' x2, PNG with 1952 10/- x4 & £1, Great Britain including 3-margin Penny Black and Seahorses to 10/- up to modern including postage, Ceylon, Hong Kong, India & States, Europe with lots of Germany, pages of Canada and USA, etc, noted overprints, officials, perfins, postmark interest, a few larger blocks and lots of duplication, condition very mixed but many fine.
Mostly used collection from Penny Black (3½ margins) and a few 2d Blues, then other QV issues to 5/- including some with attractive cancels (three with 'C' of Constantinople), £1 brown-lilac 'SPECIMEN' overprint * (faded), KEVII to 5/-, Seahorses to 10/- used, Wembley sets *, KGVI & QEII including some modern **, also group of Official overprints noted Army QV 6d, Inland Revenue QV 6d grey & 6d purple, Office of Works QV ½d vermillion & 1d lilac plus KEVII ½d & 1d, Parcels QV 1/- green & KEVII 9d plus a few Postage Dues, condition generally fine.
Oddments including QV 5/- carmine & 10/- ultramarine, Re-Engraved Seahorses 10/- with steel cds, 1925 Wembleys (**), etc, also very fine QV 'GOVT/PARCELS' 1/- green with 'SPECIMEN' h/s.

PAPUA - 1901-1942 The BNG & Papua Stamps Period
PUNCTURED 'OS':1908-10 Small 'PAPUA' Watermark Sideways Perf 12½ 6d black & myrtle-green SG O25, well centred, light diagonal bend, Port Moresby cds, Cat £1400. RPSofL Certificate (2017) states the bend is horizontal!
OFFICIAL STAMPS:1874-95 Large Format collection in three springback albums including Perf 14 3o x8, 4o x3, 5o x5, 6o x5, 20o x2, 24o x20, 30o x850o x2 & 1kr x2, Perf 14 4o x44 in unmounted mint blocks (fragile), 6o x13 (3 unused), 24o x27, 50o x26 & 50o Type II x2, generally fine to very fine, Cat SKR75,000+ (= $A10,000+). [Ideal for cancellations so postmark enthusiasts should certainly inspect this collection]

OFFICIALS - PLATE PROOFS ON CARD: Newspaper Stamps 24 values to $60 violet; Interior Department eight values in vermilion to 30c, Agriculture Department nine values in yellow to 30c, War Department six values to 24c, and State Department fifteen values to $20. Very attractive lot.
