One Penny varieties on coverextensive collection of 240+ Reds, a few Violets and 800+ Greens all with plated varieties on covers (some are Shierlaw fronts), postcards or postal stationery arranged by plate position, the Reds including Pane I Saddle on Emu, Pane II Broken Crown, Pane IV Pregnant 'Y', Pane V Cut Left Frame, Break In Left Frame, Broken Crown x5, Scratch Behind Roo x2, Notched NE Corner x2, Pane VI Colour Spot, Thinned Left Frame (also in violet), Thinned Left Corner x4 (also in violet on illustrated advertising cover), Notched NW Corner x2, Emu Frame Flaw x5, Pane VII Wattle Line x5 (including one in pair with TLC Nick), Secret Mark x3, Ferns (also in green Perf 13½x12½), Top Frame Break, Pane VIII Distorted & Thin 'ONE PENNY' x7, Scratch Behind Roo x2, Corner Spot x2, 'RA' Joined x3, Run 'N' first & second states (plus various retouches on Greens), lots of other ACSC-listed varieties & many minor flaws, stated to be unchecked for shades, also postal history & postmark interest noted '2ND AUST INF BDE FIELD PO' arrival on cover to soldier, 'WELLINGTON/LOOSE LETTERS' d/s, taxed & postage dues, '20 POSTED' cachets, destinations include Estonia, condition mixed but many fine. ENVELOPES - OFFICIAL:1918 KGV Sideface 1d carmine with 'OS'-of-Dots + ½d green with Solid 'OS' ACSC #EO5 for Deputy Commissioner of Maternity Allowances (Melbourne) to Malvern with Krag machine cancel of 17MR/1920 & Malvern arrival b/s of 18MR20, heavy vertical crease & associated minor tear at the top, Cat $2000. [The ACSC states "Approximately six used envelopes are recorded...between Dec 1918 & Oct 1919". This is therefore the LRD by some five months]

WRAPPERS - STAMPED TO ORDER:1958 KGVI 3d green large format (225mm wide) ACSC #WS30 with OHMS heading & Victorian Education Department imprint, printed 'Commercial Papers' at U/R, ½d Roo punctured 'VG' added tied 'ALEXANDRA' cds. The domestic commercial papers rate was 3½d up to 2oz]
LETTER SHEETS - OFFICIAL:1930 'TWO/PENCE' on Star with 'POSTAGE' 1½d scarlet ACSC #LSO7 being a truancy notice for the Victorian Education Department, a couple of minor defects caused upon opening otherwise superb, Melbourne slogan cancel of 30SEP/1930, undercatalogued at $1000. Rare. [The ACSC states "One example is recorded...dated 17.12.1930"]

1947-49 RobesThin Paper 10/- purple exceptionally centred marginal example tied to JC Thompson OHMS cover by 'GPO SYDNEY 130/17NO48/NSW-AUST' cds being the First Day of Issue ACSC #215y, Cat $7500. Superb! [The ACSC states "At least two first day covers exist on PMG's Department envelopes cancelled at the Sydney GPO"]

1930s-60s commercial mailaccumulation in large box noted 1934 registered airmail to Brisbane with Victorian Centenary 1/-, 1938 registered to Sweden with 6d Airmail single, 1939 OHMS postcard with KGVI 1½d 'VG' puncture, 1959 UK Forces airmail with QEII 3d single, 1961 with Fremantle, WA 'PAQUEBOT' cancel, 1962 PPCs airmail to GB with 1/2d Tiger single x3, also censorship, advertising with some illustrated covers, slogan cancels & meter mail, taxed items, instructional markings, etc, a few stationery items, potential postmark interest, condition mixed but many fine.
1932long 'OHMS' window-face cover with rare solo franking KGV 4d olive 'OS' overprint (ACSC #116(OS); Cat $800 on cover) tied 'BRISBANE/1932/12JLY/7PM/QLD' machine cancel paying double 2d domestic rate, same day arrival cancel on back, just slightly shortened and minor edge faults not affecting stamps or markings.
FOOD PARCEL LABELS:1946 5/10d blue for Victoria's Department of Agriculture ACSC #PL4B complete label, philatelic usage at Woomera in 1956, most unusually to the United States, Cat $1500. Superb!

ENVELOPES - OFFICIAL: 1888 Centennial 1d for Education Department & Cadet Corps - rare - both used; 4d Captain Cook 'CROP REPORTS' with 'Specimen.' overprint x2 & CTO; 5d Captain Cook Savings Bank unused & 'SPECIMEN'; and 6d carmine Savings Bank unused & 'SPECIMEN'; plus four other OS items, condition variable.
NEW SOUTH WALES - Postal History
1851(Apr 11) OHMS large-part outer with Colonial Treasury imprint at lower-left, to Gosford with rare franking of Sydney View Plate V (Pearl in Fan) Vertically Laid Paper 2d ultramarine SG 38 (margins close to large with a fragment of the unit at right, Cat £425 x2+ on cover) tied by Bars cancellation of Sydney (b/s), minor blemishes. Absent from Ben Palmer's Census.
1863OHMS cover with Surveyor-General's Office imprint at lower-left, scarce internal solo franking of Perf 13 8d red-orange SG 167a tied by very fine Sydney duplex, to Glebe but with no arrival b/s, vertical fold & minor aging at the base. ['O S' Overprints were introduced only in 1879]
1887(Aug 29) OHMS cover with Medical Board of NSW imprint at lower-left, scarce franking of 'OS' Overprints 3d & 6d tied by Sydney duplex, Naples (7/10) & Italian 'AMBT BOLOGNA-CONTEBBA/No 2' TPO transit b/s & 'LEOPOLDSTADT-WIEN' arrival b/s. Very pretty.
1901OHMS cover to England with very scarce solo franking of 8d Lyrebird tied by Sydney cds, superfluous 'POSTAGE PAID SYDNEY/NSW' cds also on the face, London transit (on the face) in red & 'HULL' arrival b/s, heavy vertical fold doesn't greatly detract. [A similar but very fine cover sold at a Sydney auction in 2007 for $690]
QUEENSLAND - Postal History
1870s covers to GB x4 with 6d solo, x2 or strip of 3 x2, 1892 philatelic to Canada with ½d x3 & Postal Fiscal 1d, OHMS covers x18 mostly with various 'INSPECTOR OF POLICE/...' cachets, and a few others, rather mixed condition.
1861(Aug 15) internal official cover with Clean-Cut Perf 14-16 2d blue SG 13 (some toned perfs) tied by Rays '96' & very fine 'MARYBOROUGH' cds alongside, Brisbane arrival b/s. [Alan Griffith's domestic cover with the commoner Rough Perf 2d sold for £252]
SOUTH AUSTRALIA - Postal History
1862(Sep 29) entire with Rouletted 1d pair (folded-over the top of the cover) & 'PORT-AUGUSTA' cds, 'MELROSE' b/s & light 'UNCLAIMED' h/s, with the Adelaide Dead Letter Office 'RETURNED PAID LETTER' Envelope in which it was sent back to the sender, minor blemishes.

1894oversize cover (209x143mm) endorsed "On Public Service" addressed to "The President/International Post Philatelic Exhibition Committee/Milan/Italy" with 'OS' Overprints 2d SG O55 and 1/- SG O30 tied by 'REGISTERED ADELAIDE/AP21/94/SA' squared circle, 'R' in oval cachet and 'CORRESPONDENCE OFFICE/GPO' cds in violet alongside, 'MILANO/20/5-94' arrival b/s, central fold not affecting stamps, seal cut from back and a few aging marks. [Presumably used to send South Australian display material to the Exhibition]
1899(Nov 6) OPSO cover with 'Police Commissioner's Office' imprint at lower-left, to British Guiana with rare franking of Perf 10 '5D.' on 6d brown overprinted 'O.S.' SG O72 (Cat £18 x50+ on cover) tied by GPO cds, 'VICTORIA/BC' squared-circle transit b/s & 'GEORGETOWN/DEC29/B.GUIANA' arrival b/s, central fold & minor repaired tears at the top well clear of the stamp. Ex Anthony Presgrave. A remarkable destination & stated to be one of only three covers recorded with this stamp.
