Kangaroos & KGV Headsaccumulation including 5/- Third Wmk, KGV 1d red x100+, some multiples, official & commercial perfins plus a bag of 'on paper', also Colonies & States with postmark interest noted Tasmania 1950s per favor 'EGG LAGOON/KI/TAS' with jumbled dateline & Mail Bag Seal alongside, Victoria TPO markings and range of Melbourne cancels, etc, plus small group of covers including some inwards mail, generally fine.

½d green & 1d red tied to 1d Kangaroo Die II Letter Card 'THE TWO BROTHERS/QUEENSLAND' by two strikes of the recut 'CARLTON/VICTORIA - 538' duplex of JA14/13, the cancel on the ½d with the datehead off the card but the 1d clearly dated, the message within is headed "Brunswick 13 Januar 1913" & states - translated from German - "...This is all of the new stamps that have been issued so far", the card with some 'suntanning' mostly on the reverse, Cat $17,500 as a First Day Cover of the Halfpenny Kangaroo. An important recent discovery. [Our vendor has requested that we offer this item at what we consider to be a VERY conservative estimate]

ENVELOPES - OFFICIAL:1918 KGV Sideface 1d carmine with 'OS'-of-Dots + ½d green with Solid 'OS' ACSC #EO5 for Deputy Commissioner of Maternity Allowances (Melbourne) to Malvern with Krag machine cancel of 17MR/1920 & Malvern arrival b/s of 18MR20, heavy vertical crease & associated minor tear at the top, Cat $2000. [The ACSC states "Approximately six used envelopes are recorded...between Dec 1918 & Oct 1919". This is therefore the LRD by some five months]

ENVELOPES - OFFICIAL:1918 Sideface 1d red with 'OS'-of-Dots + Sideface ½d green with Solid 'OS' ACSC #EO5 for Deputy Commissioner of Maternity Allowances, to Maryborough in 1919 from where redirected to Footscray, minor faults, Cat $2000.
ENVELOPES - STAMPED TO ORDER:1913 Kangaroo 1d Die 2 with 'Gheringhap and Maroona Railway Construction Trust' imprint at top, used at Colac. The only example we have seen for this user.
ENVELOPES - STAMPED TO ORDER:1920 Star 1½d brown + Sideface ½d green ACSC #ES53 front only with 'WARRNAMBOOL/12MR24/VIC.' cds, Cat $750. Much scarcer than the window envelopes for Vacuum Oil. [Addressed to Ball & Welch, which was probably the user; unlisted in the ACSC]
WRAPPERS - STAMPED TO ORDER:1958 KGVI 3d green large format (225mm wide) ACSC #WS30 with OHMS heading & Victorian Education Department imprint, printed 'Commercial Papers' at U/R, ½d Roo punctured 'VG' added tied 'ALEXANDRA' cds. The domestic commercial papers rate was 3½d up to 2oz]
LETTER SHEETS - OFFICIAL:1930 'TWO/PENCE' on Star with 'POSTAGE' 1½d scarlet ACSC #LSO7 being a truancy notice for the Victorian Education Department, a couple of minor defects caused upon opening otherwise superb, Melbourne slogan cancel of 30SEP/1930, undercatalogued at $1000. Rare. [The ACSC states "One example is recorded...dated 17.12.1930"]

Unused advertising envelopes for Bruchert & Sons Carriage Builders (Bendigo), Allparts Motorcycle Parts (Sydney) x2 & a postcard for Schering's Formalin Soap (Melbourne), also 1861 with 'Not known by/Letter Carrier' h/s, 1938 Bradfield Jamboree illustrated cover with hexagonal d/s & enclosed Jamboree postcard, 1931 Victorian wages sheet with 'RELIEF/STAMP DUTY' values to 2/- x4, etc, those mentioned are fine to very fine.

Batch of mostly Australian PPCs predominantly Ships including WWI Troop Ships 'Seang Choon', 'Itonus', 'Bakara', 'Persic', 'Mauretania' & 'Omrah', seven advertising cards including Burns-Philp 'Montoro', P&O 'TSS Geelong' & Melbourne Steamship Co 'SS Dimboola', also wharves at Melbourne, Port Melbourne & Williamstown, etc, some British cards, most with ink notations on the reverse; also some covers & Postal Stationery with a few attractive advertising types noted, condition variable. Mostly pre-WWII advertising covers with many illustrated types including Aspro tablets, Foster's Lager beer bottle, Gippsland & Northern Co-op 'Twin City' Tractor, HJ Plint Markets (Brisbane), John Hicks Carpets, George IV Whisky, Scotch College (Perth) to USA taxed with Postage Dues, Toowoomba Foundry 1941 airmail to UK, also with all-over adverts on reverse NSW John Jaffray Machinery (damaged on opening) and Grand Hotel (Melbourne) & WS Tong Wholesale Fruiterer, a few airmails, meter cancels and quite a number of WWII censored items, etc, condition mixed but many fine.
Eclectic group including 1913 Registration Envelope 4d Roo with early 'R/NSW/Mittagong' red & black label, bundle of 'ADVICE OF DELIVERY' cards with KGVI 3d blue (many with 'A+R' perfins) x35 including a few to New Zealand, range of Colonial/States postal stationery noted NSW 1888 2d postal card 'Specimen' overprint, Victoria Bantam ½d wrapper with 'THE "FREE CHURCH" QUARTERLY' banner, real photo postcards of Marrar NSW Post Office and four other views including 'AL Weale, Outfitter' shopfront (stained), potential postmark interest, condition quite mixed but inspection will reward.
1912social usage of Fullface 1d Letter Card 'SETTLER'S HOME' - margins intact - uprated with Queensland 1d for late fee tied by Qld TPO cds. Unusual domestic combination franking.
FOOD PARCEL LABELS:1946 3/7d magenta for Myer Emporium ACSC #PL3A complete label affixed to slightly larger parcel piece with Melbourne parcel roller cancellation, minor wrinkles, Cat $2000. Rare.
FOOD PARCEL LABELS:1946 5/10d blue for Myer Emporium ACSC #PL4A complete label addressed but unused with full o.g.!, typewriter crease at the base, Cat $2000 unused & $800 used.
FOOD PARCEL LABELS:1946 5/10d blue for Victoria's Department of Agriculture ACSC #PL4B complete label, philatelic usage at Woomera in 1956, most unusually to the United States, Cat $1500. Superb!
FOOD PARCEL LABELS:1948 Myer Emporium label as for the embossed issues but unstamped, to Hampshire with 5/10d meter, repaired internal tear; also similar 1949 Myer label of similar format but with a more formal corporate logo & the text reset, also with 5/10d meter, somehwat soiled. [Remarkably, the sender of the second item was resident in India! Food rationing in Britain ended only in July 1954, nine years after WWII ended]
