1916KGV Star 1d red envelope to USA with Kangaroo 6d blue Third Wmk and KGV ½d green Single Wmk added tied 'PERTH/24NOV16/WA' roller cancel paying triple 2½d foreign rate, censored with two 'AMF/OPENED BY CENSOR' labels (Haynes & Pope type 5CSL 1.5, recorded May-Oct 1916 only, LRD) affixed at left and 'PASSED BY/CENSOR' double-lined boxed cachet in blue on face, a few edge faults from bulky contents not affecting stamps or markings.

Travelling Post Officescollection on display pages from all Colonies/States mostly on Colonial stamps including on covers and cards plus some Commonwealth material, noted New South Wales 'ENGLISH MAIL/NSW' d/s on 1910 cover from Hungary, Queensland Great Northern 'GN RAILWAY/QUEENSLAND' on Chalon 6d and 'TPO 6 S&WR' on Papua 2d Lakatoi, South Australia early 'RAILWAY/SA', squared circles and partial 'PAY TRAIN/TRA...' (Trans-Australian Railway), Tasmania 'TPO' and 'TML' types on Pictorials on picture postcards, Victoria 'DOWN TRAIN/GM4' error (RRR) on 1880 postal card, Western Australia 'TPO EGF/WA' (Eastern Goldfields) on Swan 1d blue postal card, etc, condition variable but many fine.

Covers & Postal Stationerygroup noted NSW 1852 with 2d Laureate tied numeral '56' of Singleton and 1854 with 1d Laureate pair and 'ALBURY' crowned oval arrival, Queensland 1912 registered with early 'R/STANTHORPE' red & black label, a few PPCs, advertising covers, TPO cancels and other postmark interest, plenty of unused postal stationery, some Tatts mail, condition variable.
1920sgroup of eight covers addressed to "Mr CM Flynn, 24 Mile Railway Camp, Northern Territory" or similar with KGV frankings tied 'DARWIN' d/s, the two neatest endorsed "Re Pump" and "send pigeon by return train" (!) respectively, also a few 1900s covers to him at "Stapleton, Port Darwin", 1906 from WA to "No7 Depot, Mt Bundey" with superb 'BROCK'S CREEK/SA' squared circle clearly showing Reversed Apostrophe plus two 1960s 'Aborigines' tourist covers from Darwin and Nightcliff, condition quite mixed with some rather tatty.
Collection on Scott pages with 1854-55 1d 4d & 1/-, Hillman 6d, 1860 6d sage-green, 1861 Perf 14 4d vermilion & Perf 14-16 6d (unused), some useful Middle Period, V/Crown mint or used to £1, Crown/A mint to 5/-, etc, condition variable but most are fine to very fine.
Stockbook with heavily duplicated array of 1d pinks & 2d yellows with many shades, multiples, 'OS' punctures, at least 50 commercial perfins, etc, lots of postmark interest, generally very fine.

1854 Lithographs1/- grey-brown SG 4b, margins close to large, unused, Cat £650.
1861 Perkins BaconIntermediate Perf 14-16 4d vermilion SG 35, perfs at base trimmed clear of the design, unused, Cat £1800. A rare stamp.
1905-12 Crown/AIrregular Compound Perfs 5d olive-green SG 163a Perf 12½x11x12½x12½, undercatalogued at £1800. Believed to be unique. Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2014, at which time the stamp was unlisted in Gibbons) states "Genuine in all respects. Great rarity, this being the only example known to me". [The ACSC states in a footnote "...noted in the philatelic literature in 1915, and a used pair [was] offered at auction in 1947. No examples have been seen in recent times..." This is the discovery stamp on which the Gibbons listing is based. It was acquired at a Sydney auction in 2015 for $6900, about double the catalogue value]
POSTAL HISTORY:1907 PPC ('Post Office & Town Hall, Perth') to Queensland with 1d x2 tied by two complete strikes of the South Australian 'POSTED IN/LATE FEE BAG' cachet, couple of minor edge faults.
