1918 New Shaded Heading 1d red ACSC #P47 with printed advice for S Hoffnung & Co & uprated with KGV d green - 'SH/&/Co LTD' perfin - for the War Tax, corner bend at lower-left & a bit soiled, Cat $1500. Rare: the ACSC states that fewer than 10 used & only three unused examples have been recorded. All the used examples have been uprated. The vast majority from this printing were surcharged.

[The ACSC states "At least eleven first day covers exist ..." (the same number as known for the Penny Kangaroo, which is catalogued at $15,000)]

[The ACSC states "Only one first day cover can be traced". This was Arthur Gray's registered cover - a few blemishes - dated 6MR23 (!) which was sold at the Mossgreen auction of 30.10.2015 for $4370]
