C of A - Postal History
1935 JB Were & Son cover (358x254mm) airmail to London with 'LATE FEE' boxed cachet in violet, Kangaroos CofA Wmk 10/- x3 & 5/-, Anzac 1/- and Hermes 1/6d pair + KGV 1d all tied by 'LATE FEE/MELBOURNE VIC' cds, vertical fold not affecting stamps, a little battered at the edges with the Hermes pair, 5/- & one of the 10/- creased &/or with small tears. [The rate was 1/6d x26 plus 1d late fee = £1/19/1d]
TASMANIA - Postal History
1871 large piece (200x143mm) from a registered parcel to Kent with remarkable Three-Issue franking (faults) of VDL Imperf 4d & Perf 10 1d x2 and 'TASMANIA' Imperf 6d & 1/- (cut-to-shape) all tied by BN '63' of New Norfolk, private 'BOURNBANK/Parish of/Wellington' h/s & 'N NORFOLK/22 4 71' postmaster's provisional h/s, sloping 'TOO-LATE' h/s applied at Hobart, a few repaired edge-tears & parts of the address label removed with the registration ribbon. Endorsed "Printed Book with Photographs..." & signed "Molesworth Jeffery" which permitted mailing at the concessional rate for a "book packet" + 6d registration. Only six items recorded bearing the 6d registration rate that applied between 1871 & 1880. Ex Randall Askeland, Patrick Reid & David McNamee.

1890 cover with Solicitor's imprint on the flap, to London with rare franking of 1/6d orange tied by 'ENGLISH MAIL TPO/DE16/90 - VICTORIA' duplex cancel on cover to London arrival b/s of 9JA91, minor blemishes. [The rate was 6d ship letter x2 + 6d late fee for posting directly onto the English Mail TPO to Adelaide]
