SURFACED PALE GREEN STOCK ACSC #LC1: 'BOTANIC GARDENS/ADELAIDE SA' in bright blue, to Launceston with message headed "Westbury/June 8th" & endorsed "1d to pay late fee", Postage Due 1d tied by indelible pencil. Rare. [The ACSC states "These views should be equally scarce in any of the printed colours". This is incorrect: cards printed in black, red or blue are from the second printing & are very scarce. Our vendor stated that fewer than ten cards printed in 'colour' are recorded]
SEMI-SURFACED PALE GREEN STOCK ACSC #LC2: 'BOTANIC GARDENS/ADELAIDE SA' in dull blue-green, used Adelaide to Kooringa but uncancelled, faults, Cat $1000. Rare: the ACSC states that only five examples of #LC2 have been recorded, across four views.
PALE GREEN STOCK ACSC #LC5: 'BOTANIC GARDENS/ADELAIDE SA' in blue, intact but the viewside a bit grubby, unused, Cat $1000.
No longer available
PALE GREEN STOCK ACSC #LC5: 'BOTANIC GARDENS/BRISBANE Q' in red-brown, one small piece of corner selvedge missing otherwise as fine as they come, unused, Cat $1000.
SURFACED IVORY STOCK ACSC #LC7: 'BOTANIC GARDENS/BRISBANE Q' in sepia-brown, tiny & insignificant tone flecks, unused, Cat $1750. Rare: the ACSC states only four examples, of only 3 views, all unused, have been recorded. [This was a very small printing on the same stock residue as #LC4 & again in sepia only. It was the first issue with the reset admonition, which was a slightly larger font than the "...any" cards, introduced because of complaints the original font was too small. Ironically, the 3 lines of the original setting were fractionally higher than the new setting!]
UNSURFACED GREYISH/GREENISH STOCK WITH COMMA AFTER 'Australia,' ACSC #LC8: 'BOTANIC GARDENS/ADELAIDE SA' in dull yellow-green overprinted on the face & inside with advertising for Hobart newspapers, a few blemishes. Most unusual.
REINTRODUCTION OF GREENISH GREY STOCK WITH NO COMMA AFTER 'Australia ' ACSC #LC10 (2): 'BOTANIC GARDENS/PORTLAND VIC' Setting A with comma after 'Australia,' in blue-black, unused, Cat $175. [This was the only card in this series on which the comma was inadvertently retained]
INNER (REPLY) CARDS: 'QUEEN'S GARDENS/PERTH WA' in red-violet, used at Melbourne in 1917, Cat $1000.
'BOTANIC GARDENS/PORTLAND VIC' (vertical rectangle) in brown with Double Perforations, unused, Cat $300.
'QUEEN'S GARDENS/PERTH WA' in purple-black, to Costa Rica with Kangaroo ½d & 1d added & tied by 'GEORGE STREET/NSW' cds, superb 'SAN JOSE/MAY/9/1914/COSTA RICA' arrival cds in violet. Terrific destination.
MOTTLED GREY STOCK (OFF-WHITE WITHIN) PERF 10 ACSC #LC41: 'SYDNEY HARBOUR/NSW' (Captain Cook's statue) in purple with No Stop after 'CARD ', unused, Cat $200. [This view was adapted from Cooke's 'BOTANIC GARDENS/SYDNEY', with a lesser depth of field]
OFF-WHITE STOCK (GREY WITHIN) PERF 10: 'SYDNEY HARBOUR/NSW' (Captain Cook's Statue), CTO with 'GPO MELBOURNE/10DE20/ 2 ' cds, Cat $150.
UNIFORM GREY STOCK PERF 12½ ACSC #LC51: 'BOTANIC GARDENS/PORTLAND VIC', CTO with 'GPO MELBOURNE/19DE23/VIC' cds, Cat $150+.
UNSURFACED GREY STOCK ACSC LC55: 'BOTANIC GARDENS/PORTLAND VIC', minor blemishes on the view side, unused, Cat $400.
OFF-WHITE/CREAM STOCK PERF 12½ ACSC #LC57: 'BOTANIC GARDENS/PORTLAND VIC' (70x114mm), some perf separation/reinforcing, unused. Rare! This view is unrecorded in this issue in the ACSC.
OFF-WHITE/CREAM STOCK PERF 12½ ACSC #LC57: 'QUEEN'S GARDENS/PERTH WA', unused, Cat $750.
