[A sarcastic letter to the 'Argus' of 13.7.1911 stated "...Evidently the [PMG's] department has acted hastily but lazily on the knowledge that the position of the [SA] boundary was recently in dispute". Stock on hand was handstamped the next day!] (Qty 2)

'BURRINJUCK DAM NEW SOUTH WALES/Irrigating a young Citrus Orchard...' in dull greenish blue Die 1 Perf 12 ACSC #LC18 overprinted 'MURRUMBIDGEE/IRRIGATION SCHEME' in Black with 1d added & tied by 'LEETON/29JA19/=NSW=' cds, small spikehole on the address panel, Cat $1500. One of the rarest views, with very few examples recorded. [The Irrigation Commission requested that the overprint be applied to 1200 cards that they supplied. This was approved by Treasury, effected by Harrison, and the cards returned by him to the Commission for their own use, leaving no doubt that this was an official, if limited, issue]

ZIG-ZAG ROULETTE - INWARDS (REPLY) PORTION ACSC #LC30: 'VIADUCT/NEAR ADELAIDE SA' in brown-lake - a most unusual colour for this issue - with Double Overprint of the Obliterating Bars, faint bend at U/R doesn't detract from the very fine appearance, unused, Cat $1000. [This & the three examples illustrated in the ACSC all show different variants of the error. This suggests that they may have been overprinting trials]

PERFORATION TRIAL: 'TOWN HALL SYDNEY' in dull grey-green on imperforate remainder stock for the outwards (message) portion only subsequently Perf 10 ACSC #LC31P(1), unused, Cat $4000. The ACSC states that two examples were prepared: one of them is in the Australia Post Archives. They are the only only Perf 10 Reply Cards. [NB: 'REPLY' was not barred-out because this was merely a perforation trial for internal assessment only. It was decided that the Perf 10 pins were too worn & that the Perf 12 machine would need to be used. Illustrated in the ACSC]
