UNSURFACED THIN CHALKY STOCK ACSC #LC3: 'MOSMAN'S BAY/SYDNEY NSW' in claret, to Germany with rare uprating with Western Australia ½d Swan Imperforate at Base ACSC #W4b (Cat $2000+ in 2004) & 1d tied by light 'BALBARRUP/NO9/11/WESTERN AUSTRALIA'. A delightful & rare usage. RPSofV Certificate (1991). [The ACSC states that five examples of the error stamp are recorded, of which three are institutionalised, and "one...is used on a 1913 postcard", surely an error for this 1911 Letter Card. Cecil Walkley's used stamp - roughly separated at the base - sold at the Prestige auction of 14.4.2005 for $4600]
PALE GREEN STOCK ACSC #LC5: 'ZOOLOGICAL GARDENS/PERTH WA' in sepia-brown, intact but with minor blemishes on the address side, unused, Cat $1000.

UNSURFACED GREYISH/GREENISH STOCK WITH COMMA AFTER 'Australia,' ACSC #LC8: 'ZOOLOGICAL GARDENS/PERTH WA' in sepia, underpaid to Germany with South Australian ½d only tied by 'CALLINGTON' (SA) cds, superb 'T/20CTS'-in-circle h/s of Adelaide but no evidence that the postage due was collected. [1½d was the foreign postcard rate. However letter cards had to be paid at the letter rate of 2½d]
OUTER (MESSAGE) CARDS: 'GIANT RED GUM VIC' in red-violet with seriffed 'OHMS/STATISTICS' Overprint & printed 'STATISTICS ACT, 1907...' notice within, to Ejanding with 'GOOMALLING/JY23/12/WA' cds, very minor opening fault at right, Cat $750. Rare: seen only for Western Australia. [The notice required the farmer to provide information about his operations on the inner (reply) half & return to the local police station]
OUTER (MESSAGE) CARDS: 'HOBART FROM THE BAY' in red-violet with KGV ½d green - paying the wartax - tied by 'SOUTHERN CROSS/17MY20/WESTN AUST' cds, Cat $400. A very late usage: most remaining cards were severed, overprinted, & re-issued as single cards in 1917. [Interesting letter between female railway workers]

'ORCHARD WEST AUST' in claret Die 1 Perf 12½ ACSC #LC18, minor spots on the address side, unused, Cat $400. [This view was badly worn - note the "tornado" at upper-left) & was substituted part-way through the print-run]
