1944-53 group noted 1944 KGVI 7d First Issue with admonition on yellow paper x2 one with Brisbane '1' censor cachet, the other with Melbourne '3.' in circle check mark and on stone paper x2 one to India with Melbourne wide white censor label cut in half, the other with Qantas Re-Opening Flight overprint in red (not pilot-signed), Second Issue without admonition x2 one with Sydney yellow censor label, 1945 New Format Qantas overprint in red (not pilot-signed), also 1952-59 Officials 'SPECIMEN' h/s plus used x3 including 1953 with 'spur on AI' flaw and 1960 with 'HIS' & 'AIR LETTER' crossed out & over-typed 'HER' & 'AEROGRAMME', condition generally fine. 1940 cover to Holland with KGVI 3d blue tied Sydney '3 APR/1940' slogan cancel with 'Amsterdam Maart 1948/Door oorlogsomstandigheden/met vertraging ontvangen' label pasted on the face. [The label translates as "Amsterdam March 1948 Received with delay due to war conditions". Applied to mail which was transiting through France at the time of the German invasion of Holland & which was stored in the cellar of a French castle (!) where it was not discovered until early 1948]

[These envelopes are believed to have been issued in WA only. Ted Proud records the cds used only in Palestine until 3.11.1942 & in TPNG from 23.9.1943]
