Covers accumulation mostly FDCs & PSEs, souvenir covers, Maxi-Cards & commemorative postmarks, but also some commercially used stationery & commercial mail, a few PPCs, majority post-WWII but a few KGV frankings, mail to Australia, thematic interest for Scouts, Olympics, Exhibitions & more, noted a few 'Cinderellas' tied on cover, KGVI Challis FDCs, etc, condition mixed but generally fine. Weighs 66kgs.
Accumulation including Roos noted First Wmk 4d & 5d CTO, KGV Heads in quantity noted Penny Reds 'CA' monogram (creased; no gum) plus c.400 used some with annotated varieties, Pre-Decimals reasonably complete mostly used (ex 5/- Bridge), imprint blocks mint & used, a few private perfins, Postage Dues, Postal Stationery cut-outs, various Post Office labels including 'Certified Mail', sheets of 'R' labels red x2 & blue x5 including 'MAWSON' (AAT), condition variable but many fine. Weighs 8kg.

KGV Postal Card 1d with War Tax unpaid & taxed, Fullface Letter Card LC3 'BUSH HUT' used, 'SPECIMEN' Overprint in Red on QEII 5d Letter Card & Letter Sheet, defective 1d Roo STO Letter Sheet - front only - for Roberts & Co (Tas), & two others.

POSTAL CARDS: 1978-82 Decimal issues comprising 18c x11, 20c x7, 22c x4 and 27c all used, variety of views, many with added frankings for overseas airmail rates, plus 1990s Maximum Cards 'Postage Pre-Paid' x12 all used to Europe with personal messages, condition variable but mostly fine.
Useful selection with better items including Postal Cards Coronation 1d unused & Queen Mother 1d+1d for South Australian Registrar of Companies used, 'MILITARY ENVELOPE' 1d 'AIF ABROAD' unused, STO Envelope KGV Oval 1d+1d for HM Leggo used (central fold & minor opening fault), etc, also a very fine group of QEII issues unused, condition variable.

1944-53 group noted 1944 KGVI 7d First Issue with admonition on yellow paper x2 one with Brisbane '1' censor cachet, the other with Melbourne '3.' in circle check mark and on stone paper x2 one to India with Melbourne wide white censor label cut in half, the other with Qantas Re-Opening Flight overprint in red (not pilot-signed), Second Issue without admonition x2 one with Sydney yellow censor label, 1945 New Format Qantas overprint in red (not pilot-signed), also 1952-59 Officials 'SPECIMEN' h/s plus used x3 including 1953 with 'spur on AI' flaw and 1960 with 'HIS' & 'AIR LETTER' crossed out & over-typed 'HER' & 'AEROGRAMME', condition generally fine.
1944-65 collection including mint, FDI and commercially used noted 1944 First Issue with admonition on yellow paper endorsed "First Day Cover/11th Sept 1944" but with 'CHATSWOOD/12SE44/NSW' cds and on stone paper x5 including with Sydney white censor label cut in half to South Africa, with Melbourne wide white censor 'half-label' to UK, with Adelaide '4' in circle check mark to "RAF, Ein Shemer, MEF" and with Perth '5' in circle check mark to Southern Rhodesia, Second Issue without admonition x7 including with Brisbane '1' in circle check mark, with Sydney censor label (format as for yellow labels but on buff stock; unusual) and with Melbourne yellow censor label, etc, also Officials 'Postage/Paid' used x2 one with heading in indigo & 'SPECIMEN' h/s x2 plus 'OHMS' Plane used, 'SPECIMEN' overprint & h/s, condition generally very fine.

Unused selection with KGV Star types x10, KGVI Oval 2½d with Security Lining, QEII 3½d 10c & 18c each with Albino Impression only, 5d light blue with 'SENDER'S NAME AND ADDRESS' across the stamp, 20c with Printing Flaw, etc, also STO QEII selection x10 including with advertising & 7c on Post Office 'Little Letter' (only 300 requisitioned), fine to very fine. A very good lot.
Four cartons with a massive quantity of QEII issues mostly 18c but including lots of 7c 10c & 22c with some long types, possible research potential, some cds interest & masses of slogan cancels, some unused material, also large bags of cutouts. Bring a van! [** Corrected description **]

Unused selection with Kangaroo 1d Original Die, Star 1d, 1d+½d, 1½d black-brown Die 2 & 2d orange (light central fold), Star with 'POSTAGE' 2d scarlet, 'THREE/HALFPENCE' on 2d orange (stained) & 'POSTAGE' 2d scarlet, KGV Oval with Blue Inside & 1962 Royal Agricultural Show 5d, a few with the flaps stuck, Cat $2000+.
Used selection including Star 1d red with Left Point Broken (uncancelled), 1d+½d x2, 1½d black-brown Die 2, 1½d brown to the Bahamas (b/s) & to USA uprated with 1½d cutout, & 2d orange, Star with 'POSTAGE' 2d scarlet, 'THREE/HALFPENCE' on 2d orange (stained) & 'POSTAGE' 2d scarlet, KGVI 3d Knife 2 ACSC #EP45(2) with scarce Hobart 'COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA/1901 JUBILEE 1951' slogan & 3½d registered to Spain, QEII 5d light blue uprated with 4c Coil for internal airmail, etc, fine to very fine.
1928 KGV Oval ½d orange, 1d green, 1½d red (flap fault) & 2d brown ACSC #EP29-31 & 33, all CTO with 'GPO/20DE28/MELBOURNE' cds (the 2d so faintly that it could be mistaken as unused), Cat $1100. Unissued. [All but the 1½d were never available from the Post Office. The ½d & 2d in brown were also never available for Stamped to Order issues, except that the ½d was used for the uprated 1d #ES65]
1937-51 KGVI Oval 2½d red size 120x95mm as ACSC #EP43 but on off-white stock (as #EP41), used at Melbourne with 'KEEP PRICES DOWN/BUY SAVINGS/CERTIFICATES' slogan. Unlisted.
1953 QEII Large Die 3½d stamp-size photographic essay (73x87mm) endorsed in ballpoint "C" at U/R & "Head on 'B' will/be used" (the difference being in the position of the Head & the Void in the Inner-Frame). Unlisted in ACSC.
QEII issues with 'SPECIMEN' Overprint in red comprising Large Die 3½d red, 3½d orange, 4d plum & STO 3d green, Small Die 5d indigo and 5d light blue both sizes (the 227x103mm with larger 79x12mm opt), Cat $1300.
MILITARY: KGV Sideface 1d 'AIF ABROARD' ACSC #ME3B (flap stuck) & 'AUSTRALIAN IMPERIAL FORCE/ ABROAD' #ME5A, unused, Cat $600.
C of A - Postal Stationery - Envelopes (PTPO)
Large box of KGV to Decimal issues with many better items and lots of attractive advertising types, Star ½d green uprated, KGV Oval 1d & 2d both uprated with 'VOCo' perfins, KGVI 2d lilac for Harris Scarfe x2, QEII 3d green with Offset on Reverse, 7c on Post Office 'Little Letter' (only 300 requisitioned), etc, condition variable. Inspection will be rewarded.
1946-47 KGVI Oval 1½d green & Four Bars on 2½d red ACSC #ES81 window envelope - the window measures 118x35mm - for Warburton Franki (Melb) Ltd, minor blemishes, unused, Cat $5000. Rare: the ACSC states "...one unused & about a dozen used entires are recorded". [John Sinfield states that the Post Office made an error in applying the 2½d embossing and corrected it in this manner to the requisitioned denomination]
C of A - Postal Stationery - Letter Cards
1913 Kangaroo 1d Die 2 #L16 'GOVERNMENT HOUSE/PERTH' unframed-oval in black overprinted on the view side 'From GLOBE TIMBER MILLS COMPANY, Adelaide' & with pro forma advice within, used Adelaide to Strathalbyn. Rare advertising. [The 'Ginger Meggs' Collection offered in our auction of 3.3.2019, included a similarly overprinted KGV 1d card that sold for $659]
1923 1Â½d Green Perf 12½ ACSC #LC51 'SPRING ST MELB' (tram & horse-drawn buggy), to Arkansas (rare destination) with 1½d green tied by Sydney cds of 3OC23, minor discolouration, Cat $500. The earliest recorded date of usage of the 1½d green cards. [The ACSC states the ERD is 10.10.1923]
