PUNCTURED 'OS': 6d brown two contiguous blocks of 20 (4x5) from the right of the left-hand pane, a bit aged & the gum removed, Cat $2400++ (mint).

Smooth Paper 1d carmine punctured 'OS' block of 36 from the base of Pane VII - L/H margin removed - with Ferns & 'RA' of 'AUSTRALIA' Joined ACSC #71(4)ia & j but with varieties f g & h not evident, 'CA' Monogram 1mm below the Jubilee Line #71(4)zb, horizontal creasing at the top of the second row & at the base of the fourth row, most units are unmounted, Cat $3750++.

1948-56 No Watermark ½d orange No Watermark complete sheets x23 plus a couple of panes with & without imprints & perf-pips, includes one sheet mis-guillotined showingthree full imprints at top, also two sheets with 'coil' perforations one of 160 as issued with imprint and another of 320 (separated down the middle) produced specifically for preparation of coil strips, lots of varieties annotated, condition generally fine. An excellent group for further study.
The balance of the collection on neatly annotated pages in expensive Mylar sleeves with a couple of First Day Covers, blocks with FDI cancels, a pair inadvertently cancelled with Parliament House cds of 6MY27, booklet & booklet panes, part-'jumbo' booklet with 1½ panes only, blocks with Perforation Guide Marks in the margins, all the listed varieties, unlisted varieties & a range of Hairline Varieties mostly in positional blocks, two singles with Pre-Printing Paper Folds, single in very deep shade noted as a Double Print (?) on cover to South Africa, block of 4 with part Plate Number '12', three complete sheets of 80 from unidentified plates, selection of philatelic airmail & shipboard covers, etc, generally very fine.
ISSUED STAMPS: Complete sheets of 80 (10x8) identified as from Plates 2 5 6 7 10 & 12 (with large-part Plate Number '12') with listed varieties noted in pencil in the margins, also a complete sheet CTO with small 'CANBERRA/9MY27/FCT' FDI cds. The backs have not been inspected by us but we expect they are very fine and that most if not all units are unmounted. A most unusual opportunity.

1882-97 Wmk '40' Perf 11x12 10d violet SG 236e corner block of 36 (6x6) from the L/R of the sheet with Current Number '5' at L/R, virtually full o.g. with most of the units being unmounted, Cat £1260++. Excellent full-page exhibit.

1899 Chalk-Surfaced Paper Arms 1d rose-carmine left-hand pane of 60 (6x10) completely Imperforate SG 301a with full marginal inscriptions at top & left and the three 'monograms' at the base, a few very minor blemishes & a patch of toning about the size of a 1c piece in the margin by Row 4 otherwise very fine with full unmounted o.g., Cat £8250++ (for mounted pairs). A spectacular block that is almost certainly the largest surviving multiple of this error.
1907-11 Litho Large Chalons 2/6d vermilion ACSC #Q55 (SG 309) irregular block of 16 (3x6, minus units 2 & 3), well centred, virtually full og with 12 units being unmounted, Cat $1600++ (£670++) for mounted singles. [The ACSC states that this stamp was issued in sheets of 30 (6x5). That is certainly not the case here, and we note that John White had a block of 28 (7x4)]
LOCAL STAMPS: c.1966 Hayles' Magnetic Island 5c blue-green complete booklet of 48 (four sheets of 12) & 20c complete booklet of 40 (five sheets of 8). The only such booklets seen by us.

1905-12 Litho Crown/A Perf 12½ 3d brown ACSC #T46 (SG 246) block of 24 (6x4) with margins at left & right, reinforced with hinges still large-part o.g., Cat $480++ (£336++). Ex JRW Purves, with his note "The largest known mint block".
POSTAL FISCALS: 1900 'REVENUE' Overprint on Stamp Duty 3d Platypus with the Overprint Double One Sideways SG F34a lower-left corner block of 30 - a quarter-sheet - with Current Number '8' at L/L, a few insignificant blemishes that barely detract from this impressive showpiece, most units are unmounted, Cat £6750+++. Surely the largest surviving multiple of this spectacular error, which is much scarcer than the similar error on the £1 SG F39. [A mounted single sold at our auction of 2.3.2019 for $319 (x30 = $9570)]

SOUTH AFRICA: 1910 Opening of Union Parliament 2½d deep blue SG 1 complete sheet of 120 (12x10), some minor perf-crimping, the right-hand half of the sheet with 'BENONI/4NOV10/TRANSVAAL' cds being the First Day of Issue, full unmounted o.g., Cat £330++. [The lot also includes 1947 Royal Visit 1d & 3d complete sheets]
PROPAGANDA FORGERIES: Germany 1944 Beer Hall Putsch 12+12pf forgery with inscription altered to '30 JANUAR 1933' - the day Hitler was sworn in as German Chancellor - and central design showing Heinrich Himmler fitting leg-irons to a hand-cuffed civilian Mi 32A, perforated complete sheetlet of 20 (4x5) with margins, a few very minor tone spots, unfolded & unmounted, Cat €16,000. Roland Pieles Certificate (2018). Rare: very few complete sheetlets are known. Produced by Great Britain.
"CINDERELLAS": 1945 'PATRIOTI/VALLE BORMIDA' 5c to 2L50c complete sheetlets of 10, no gum as issued, very fine. Rarely offered in this format.

EL SALVADOR: 1899 Timbre Municipal 50c green overprinted '1901' complete sheet of 100 (10x10), some minor perf separation & a small piece of the selvedge missing, very fresh but no gum.
