ARCHIBALD MOUBRE GUTHRIE: 1949-50 Arms £1 blue tied to generic cover by Perth cds of 28NO49, registered to 'LEEDERVILLE' (b/s).
NEVILLE MENZ: 1949-50 Arms 5/- red to £2 green tied to generic 'Darling Downs' covers by appropriately dated cds, the £1 & £2 are registered at Brisbane & Perth respectively.
ERIC WILLIAM OGDEN: 1949 Sir John Forrest 2½d tied to handpainted cover by 'PARKVILLE/28NO49/VIC' cds. NB: the illustration is above Lot 224.
ERIC WILLIAM OGDEN: 1954 WA Stamp Centenary 3½d Swan tied to partly handpainted cover by 'RICHMOND/2AU54/VIC-AUST' cds, minor tonespots.

1915 (Mar 6) commercial cover to USA with scarce combination franking of WA ½d + KGV 1d red pair tied by 'POPANYINNING/WESTN AUST' cds, double-boxed 'PASSED BY/CENSOR.' h/s of Perth in green, stain at U/R affects the 1d pair.

1943 usage of KGVI 1d green Envelope with straight-line 'AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE CANTEENS' within outline map at upper-left, 'AIF FIELD PO/6JA43/No 8' cds. Very scarce. [These envelopes are believed to have been issued in WA only. Ted Proud records the cds used only in Palestine until 3.11.1942 & in TPNG from 23.9.1943]
SUBJECTS MINING: NSW 'Building Ore-Shoot, Broken Hill Mines', fine used in 1908; NT 'Copper Ore in Transit', very fine; Queensland 'Sapphire Mining at Anakie', minor blemishes; and Tasmania 'Smelters, Mt Lyell'; a few blemishes, postally used in 1908. Rare cards.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA: Bundle extracted from a postmark collection with better views, subjects & local publishers including from Busselton, Geraldton, Guildford & Kalgoorlie, condition variable but all are presentable to fine.

Well-filled Seven Seas album with New South Wales including Sydney Views 1d No Clouds apparently unused but it has been professionally repaired & 3d x3 (one with No Whip, & one with BN '78' - rated RR - of Cassilis), Laureates to 8d, 'REGISTERED' Imperf x4, Charity duo, 'OS' Overprints QV 10/- & £1 CTO reprints, Postage Dues set mint or CTO, etc; Queensland including 'Half-penny' on 1d Die II mint, Charity duo mint but a bit soiled, QV Revenues to £5 black, etc; South Australia Imperf 2d apparently a Double Print/Dry Print, 'POSTAGE & REVENUE' plate proof with blank value tablet & 'SPECIMEN' Overprints to £20, Thin 'POSTAGE' set mint or used/CTO, etc; Tasmania including Courier 1d with full margins, Tablets £1 used, 1899-1900 Pictorials mint, etc; Victoria with a couple of very attractive Half-Lengths, 'REGISTERED' 1/- with large margins, Laureates 8d orange & 10d grey, Bell Emergency Printings 1d green/drab, Stamp Statutes to £5 including an apparently mint 3d (no certificate), Large Stamp Duty £1/10/- CTO and 35/- & £6 to £9 all fiscally used, Ultra-High Values £50 (stained) & £100 both CTO, 1886-96 High Values fiscally used, 1900 Charity duo mint, KEVII £2 punctured 'OS' CTO, Postage Dues both sets mint or used, etc; and Western Australia including 1854-55 1d & 4d both with full margins, Hillman 2d with BPA Certificate, later issues to £1, Long Revenues postally used to 1/-, Telegraph duo postally used, etc; condition rather mixed but many including most of those mentioned are fine to very fine. Huge catalogue value, especially if one takes into account the numerous faked imperfs, forged overprints etc, that we have completely ignored in arriving at the estimate.
This & the next two lots are dated collections Western Australia in three expensive Lighthouse binders, from 1869 rather sparse until the 1890s then with a good degree of completeness, noted many better denominations to 5/- x5 & some Postal Fiscals.

An outstanding collection that can be further developed. Ex 'Chartwell'.

Scarce multiples comprising 1d ochre two blocks of 6 (one with 9-Bar '8' cancels), 1d bistre block of 4, 2d yellow with Commissariat Punctures block of 4 with 15-Bar '5' cancels, 2d chrome-yellow blocks of 4 & 6, 4d carmine block of 4 with 12-bar '16' cancels of York, and 6d mauve block of 6 with 'E'-in-Bars cancels of Eticup. A very appealing lot. Ex 'Tamiami'.

Collection on Plymouth leaves with Penny Black x4 including a vertical pair, Litho 4d shades unused x3 & used x2 (one with void grid cancel in red), 1/- shades unused & used x3 (one rouletted), 1857 Hillman 2d, 1860-64 4d unused x2 (one with Pre-Printing Paper Fold) & 6d (3½ margins), 1861 No Wmk imperf plate proofs 4d in carmine & 6d in grey-lilac, 1864-79 CC 1/- SG 61 unused, 1888 New Colours mint & used, V/Crown Perf 11 2/- mint block of 4 (corner fault), etc, a few forgeries, also Imperial Punctures Imperf 4d with Double Puncture, 4d carmine tied to piece & 1/- SG 62 pair one with Double Puncture, 'WA' Punctures 8d & 10d used blocks of 4 & 6d used block of 8, a page of numeral cancels including '12'-in-Circle in red on 4d carmine (we have no idea what this might be!) & 'GULLAWA' cds on 2d yellow, generally a very fine & appealing lot.
