Postal History group noted Victoria 1862 with 4d Emblem & 1873 inwards from GB each with different Melbourne 'UNCLAIMED' cachets, 1885 to Germany with d rose & 8d pink, bundle of Dept of Lands mail with Melbourne 'PAID' cancels, various instructional markings, Half Lengths 2d and 3d + 6d Woodblock both on large pieces, etc, also NSW mostly stationery including Scenic View cards, Specimen overprints and 1894 circular with 1d & 2d 'OS' overprints (stained), then a few Picture Postcards including real photo types, condition variable but many fine. 1901 (May) stampless Jolley PPC endorsed "Feld-Post" to Germany with message in German headed "12 V 01", 'KAIS DEUTSCHE/MARINE-SCHIFFSPOST/No 46/21.5.01' datestamp used aboard SMS Hansa & superb 'OBERLAGIEWNIK' arrival cds. [Naval ships from various countries came to Melbourne for the official Opening of Parliament on 9th May 1901. Hansa departed Chinese waters 31.3.1901, returning 19.6.1901. The message states the trip China-Melbourne took four weeks]

1976 Postal Cards 18c Scenic Issue comprising the 7 views that were substituted & the different scenes that replaced them, unused. Superb! Modern rarities: virtually all of the original sets were destroyed & very few were actually distributed.

The stamp impressions were the same as the views, meaning that Australia Post issued seven error stamps in miniscule proportions. If these were adhesive stamps, the seven withdrawn designs would each be worth thousands of dollars. (Qty 14 cards)
