KGV 1d red Star mostly Post Office issues with variety of dies & different paper stocks including ½d green + 1d red 'doubleton' on buff stock, also STO for Adelaide Electric, Vacuum Oil (faults), Howard Smith (long format; aging marks) and Vacuum Oil (Adelaide) ½d green + 1d red 'doubleton' (central fold), plus KGV 1d Sideface Die I envelope STO for Barrow Brothers and KGV 1d green 'Stars' envelopes STO for Adelaide Co-Op & Percy Lawrence, condition quite variable used.
Unused selection with KGV Star types x10, KGVI Oval 2½d with Security Lining, QEII 3½d 10c & 18c each with Albino Impression only, 5d light blue with 'SENDER'S NAME AND ADDRESS' across the stamp, 20c with Printing Flaw, etc, also STO QEII selection x10 including with advertising & 7c on Post Office 'Little Letter' (only 300 requisitioned), fine to very fine. A very good lot.

KGV frankings including 4d orange punctured 'OS', 4d olive pair & 4d olive strip of 3 etc, a few registered including 1921 with red/white Hobart R label, covers to Italy (taxed), Finland & Java, 1918 'JACK'S DAY' illustrated cover with matching receipt enclosed, 1922 illustrated advertising cover for Blue Ribbon Biscuits, 1928 Waratah-Ulverstone endorsed "Picked/up/in/street"!, etc, condition variable. A good lot.
Extensive group of covers etc mostly with Melbourne cancels including States & KGV frankings, official mail, advertising covers, some postal stationery & PPCs including 'Gooseberry Farm, Gippsland' and lovely Jolley with vignette views of Mandarin Rock (Bright) & Albion Woollen Mills (Geelong), plus postmarks on stamps & pieces interspersed throughout, also album with similar from Tasmania, condition generally fine.
Balance of collection including 1902 inwards from GB with Melbourne 'REFUSED/ON ACCOUNT/OF TAX' h/s and Victoria 1d & 2d Postage Dues (front only), 1912 NSW Railway Refreshment Rooms & Jenolan Caves Hotel advertising envelope with 'JENOLAN CAVES' cds, PPC used with NSW 1d & Queensland ½d combination franking, KGV frankings including 2d red with 'OS' puncture on SA Education Dept cover & 4½d violet on 1930 flight cover, 1953 with red 'EXPRESS' label, 1963 1/2d Thylacine on Philip Island (Vic) tourist cover, KGV 1d red postal cards noted two with 'PASSED' censor cachets, condition quite variable; then quantity of 1938-66 Kangaroo ½d orange ** in larger blocks noted Double Perf In Left Margin strips of 10 x2, a few Framas, etc, plus SAFE Signoscope and some literature including Rosenblum 'Stamps of the Commonwealth of Australia' (1966). Weighs 4kg.
Interesting group with lots of KGV frankings including a few with commpercial perfins, strength in illustrated advertising with many KGV period (some are fronts only) through to very scarce 1950s & 1960s types, also some used Postal Stationery & attractive hand-illustrated covers from NSW (1901) & Tasmania (1906), condition variable.

World War II annotated collection of civilian & Forces covers with good ranges of censor tapes & cachets including ' 1/2 /PASSED/BY/CENSOR/ 1 ' of Townsville & provisional use of Brisbane label, 'RELEASE' h/s of Brisbane, printed 'Privilege Letter/...' from HMAS Westralia, other Forces mail with various concession h/s, 'POSTAGE PAID/25 CENTS/JOHORE' h/s & several Navy items, etc, a group of illustrated advertising covers & a couple with printed patriotic slogans, some Postal Stationery including Defence Canteens 1d green x2 & 1d brown x3, two Parcel Post forms paid at 5/10d rate for Food Parcels, etc, condition variable.
1913 TH Wood Seed Merchant & Nurseryman illustrated advertising postcard with Kangaroos 1d tied by Brisbane machine cancel, undeliverable with 'UNCLAIMED/IPSWICH' cachet & 'DEAD LETTER OFFICE/BRISBANE' cds in red on face, couple of minor blemishes.
1919-23 private wrappers to USA comprising Department of Agriculture OHMSx3 each with solo Kangaroos Third Wmk 2d grey punctured 'OS' (Die I x2 - one damaged - and Die IIA), also Pender Bros 'THE AUSTRALIAN BEEKEEPER' x2 each with KGV 1d violet, plus three more Pender Bros each with KGV 1½d brown, all with some folds and/or edge faults but stamps mostly fine.
1922 'MAPLE LEAF CAFE PICTORIAL SOUVENIR' illustrated letter-sheet showing cafe booth on face & Grand Theatre on reverse, inside various views of interior including 'Soda Fountain', also Adelaide scenes including Tram on King William Street, with lengthy personal message, to Wagga Wagga (NSW) with KGV 2d orange tied Adelaide machine cancel, couple of rather minor blemishes. A wonderful example of postal advertising.
1923 Pender Bros Ltd 'THE AUSTRALIAN BEEKEEPER' printed heading on private wrapper to USA with KGV 1d violet tied 'WEST MAITLAND/NSW' cds, plus another with Pender Bros Ltd cachet only, also sent 1923 to USA with KGV 1½d brown and re-directed with 'FORWARDED FROM AMHERST, MASS.' cachet in violet & duplex cancel alongside, both with some edge faults but stamps fine.
1932 Harris Scarfe illustrated advertising envelope for Falcon 12 Gauge Smokeless Cartridges showing hunter with shotgun, used with KGV 1d green 'H.S.' perfin paying commercial papers rate (flap unsealed) tied by Adelaide slogan cancel, couple of minor blemishes. Very attractive.
1937 commercial airmail covers to USA both via Hong Kong & Philippines per Pan Am FAM-14 'Clipper' service 1) Melbourne-California at 4/8d ½oz rate with KGV 4d olive x2 & 2/- Roo x2, horizontal fold; and 2) Adastra advertising cover Sydney-Ohio at double-rate of 9/3d with Roos 2/- x2 & 5/- + KGVI 3d blue, part of reverse missing. Scarce.
1937 1937 Great Britain Kohl Scientific Instruments cover to NSW with KGV ½d tied London '30SEP/1937' cancel paying printed matter rate with flap unsealed, 'SURCHARGED/11NOV1937/by/CUSTOMS' time-clock d/s in violet & 'CUSTOMS DUTY/½D/TO PAY' cachet in red on face, Postage Dues ½d only affixed alongside tied 'DELIVERY ROOM GPO/23NO37/SYDNEY' cds, minor blemishes. [Incoming advertising material was subject to duty, purportedly to protect the local printing industry, but with the bizarre result that addressees were in effect charged to receive 'junk mail'; the only possible 'solo' usage of the ½d Postage Due was for the payment of this duty]
1939-45 civil censorship covers with good coverage from all States with lots of variety in the censor labels & cachets including from NSW with boxed 'PERMISSION/GRANTED', Qld with 'RELEASE', Qld with 'PRIVILEGED MAIL/ GOVERNOR OF QUEENSLAND', Tas with rare boxed 'PASSED BY CENSOR/.....', GB-NSW with ' 2 /RETURN/TO/ SENDER', etc, mostly to standard destinations but also to Ceylon, India, Palestine, Ireland, Forces Abroad, and two to Germany each with 'UNDELIVERABLE/RETURN TO SENDER' h/s of Sydney, condition rather mixed but great value at the estimate.

GREAT BRITAIN: 1938 (Aug 6; during the first week of the rate) & 1939 (11 July) EAMS double-rate advertising covers from Sydney at with pairs of KGV 5d or Ram 5d, minor blemishes.
Small group including Port Pirie (SA) 'Harbour View', 'Railway Station' [train], 'Masonic Hall & Fire Brigade' & 'Alexander Street' real photo cards, 'Across Australia on one set of Dunlops' advertising card showing early-model car 'Bogged in mud crossing Salt Lake, WA', American Fleet 'USS Virginia' used 1908 from Melbourne, WWI soldiers photos x6 plus honour guard with flags (location unknown), various other topographical, artist & greetings cards, condition variable but mostly fine.
Early aviator real photo cards comprising Harry Hawker (British card), Bert Hinkler (advertising for 'Old Court Whisky' on address side) & Charles Ulm landing x2; also 1938 RAF England-Australia world record long distance flight x8; unused.
